kd struggled and got bumped around. symmonds got bumped some but advances to the finals with a 26 last lap. destroyed the 143 guy, but it is only the semis. looked really good though!

looks good for a medal i think
In case you missed it:
He started off near last in his semifinal.
The pace was slow 26.4, 54.6. Former NCAA champ Dmitrijs Milkevics stormed to the front on the 3rd lap from near the back.
Symmonds seemed to want to go wide and move up from the back but couldn't really go anywhere as everyone was bunched with the slow pace. I was wondering if he was wasting his energy. Boy was I wrong. Before the bell he shot up way from the back and made a huge move. He kept going on the backstretch, shot by Milkevics and got the heat win. Super impressive.
KD in his heat seemed lackluster and didn't qualify.
Notice how Symmonds didn't try to "go through" until after the 400. He has the patience and confidence to wait for an opening, instead of getting into the "argy bargy" as the Brits put it.
Symmonds has the chops for championship racing. He will be in the final in Beijing, which gives him a shot at a medal, the 800 being what it is right now (in a down-cycle internationally)
Amazing race footage of Nick Symmonds when he was relatively "unkown" against Borzakavsky and Kadevis Robinson. Notice the announcers don't even mention him until he wins. He shows a lot of patience and confidence even in this race.

He may have "seemed lackluster" but he did indeed run the 5th fastest time of the day at 1:47.57 ...alas, he was third in his heat and only top two advance (including the two slower placers from heat three)
I believe that Symmonds just might have enough moxie to snag a medal tomorrow...his build and closing speed are really well suited for indoor 800...as was the USA Indoor Nationals, this might be the best "race" of World Indoors.
MF
After seeing him run so many times, I never feel like he is out of the race, no matter how good the comp is... Hope you got one more 26 second last 200 in you Nick! Good luck!
Gags thinks you can do it.

Even if you are just trolling you are still a fecking idiot. Symmonds was built like a football player when he was a freshman in college and his win/loss resume speaks for what kind of athlete he is. Dude is still pretty young. And you are a douche.

Symonds exhibits the typical persona of a LANCED athlete. He wasn't that way when he was younger, then all of a sudden the personality changes with the additional of certain substances. I feel sorry for Nick.
he wasn't that way when he was younger? what do you mean by that? he wasn't as buff or he didn't run as well? he was a small kid in high school but by his senior year in hs he was both buff and had a rediculous kick. I remember watching him blow kids away in the last 400 of any race since high school. stop pretending to know what you are talking about and being a major douche bag. go home, no one wants you here
I wouldn't say ridiculous... But he's in there. He should shot for a medal. I think Kaki is the guy to beat. Kamel and Mulaudzi will be tough, too.
he looks bloated, and it's not from too much pizza.
Symonds looked strong enough for last place in the finals.
Personal best though, but still dead last.
No tests have caught Lance Armstrong either. There are no tests than can catch everyone. They just plain don't exist partner. But tell tale signs are there with Symmonds. Roiders behaviors often change into aggressive storm trooper types. You don't see the change in other OTC runners like Kevin Elliott for example. Some use tranquilizers to hide the roid rage like Lance Armstrong. But when he missed a dose the other day, he had a hissy fit and was thrown out of a night club. The bouncer made headlines laughing about the little midget that could.

where did I say anything about tests? what I'm saying is his behavior, running style, and body type haven't changed since high school where I'm pretty dang sure he wasn't roiding. you are saying that " you don't see the change in other OTC guys" what I'm saying is there isn't a change, he's always been that way.

Dude, are you f***ing stupid? Why would LA still take any kind of steroid? He is retired you f***ing idiot.
we all know LA was forced to retire from cycling. he runs marathon now. the corrupt marathons allow dopers.
