I see the complete results are now posted on the RUNOHIO site under Results. I ran it yesterday and it was a great event...It was my third time at the Arnold Pump and Run and it seems to get better each year. Nice Job.

I heard someone at the event "died" of a heart attack after the race. But the medic team was on the guy is seconds and revived him and he went to the hospital and is ok and went home… Nice job on the race and with medical support.

Is the course hilly? How strict are they on the bench reps? Do you have to hold 1 sec at the bottom?

Hilly, No
Short, Yes
Way Overpriced, Yes
It depends which on jarhead is supervising your bench.

The course is not short, although it was at one time.
They stop you at 30 reps, and should go to at least 40, just use a different scale, 30 seconds for the first 20 reps, 20 seconds per rep up to 30 and 10 seconds per rep up to 40. This does not penalize the stronger lifters as lifting is part of the fitness aspect. You wouldn't stop recording the 5K time at 16 minutes even if a runner ran faster. Also giving a percentage off the weight should not start until age 50

Skate I think that is a pretty good way to do it. I couldn't get near 40 though (26 last year). Are you going to do it this year?

Funny how a guy who pr's a short course will denounce it being short, but if they get spanked, then the damn thing was short and mile markers were way off.
But you still agree that it is way overpriced?

How does the lifting go? I can't imagine people being able to bench press their weight 30 times. Maybe I just need to hit the weight room more...

I think that the course is accurate and really fast. There are a lot of long, straight stretches and it is flat. I don't think the price is too unreasonable. You get free admission to the expo ($10) and if you think about how much multievent competitions usually cost (triathlons, etc) then it's not that bad. I think they could give out better quality shirts though because they have had those cheap 100% cotton ones in the past years.

Check the below link. The course is a certified course so unless they don't run the course as measured I'd be fairly sure it is accurate. Don't even tell me "my GPS said the course is this long" 'cause GPS's do not have the accuracy (ie 15 meter lease significant digit compared to 4 inch with a Jones counter).
Also anyone have results for the straight 5k? I have a friend running it as her first race.
thanks
