Bethke has had an interesting last month. A sub-four mile at Notre Dame. Then the sub-7:52 3K at Washington. Then running down Acosta from way back in the 1600 leg of the DMR at the USATF's to get Wisconsin the NCAA Auto time. Then winning two tactical races at the BIG TEN's. One of them a 5K, which he had never raced before. All in all, a decent month.
It will be interesting to see what he runs at the NCAA's. Likely the 1600 leg in the DMR and then the 3K.
Brandon is not only gifted as a runner, but he's a guy who puts in all the work and makes all the sacrifices necessary to hit the next level; all the while being one of the most innately tactical runners out there, period.
