No nukes allowed. Just conventional warfare. Every nation's military against America's. The U.S. is allowed to reinstitute the draft if necessary, and increase military spending. Whatever it takes.

Considering the trouble we had with Korea and North Vietnam, I would say we'd most definitely lose. Not to mention that China could probably do the job themselves. Can you imagine the Chinese draft?
with no nukes, america wouldn't stand a chance. china alone could send a billion people to invade. with nukes, i'm fairly certain that no one would win.
I think it would be interesting. Who is attacking who? I think it would be close don't count south and lating america out they pack quite a punch! Send the french canadians in first!
I think it depends on the war's goal. Is the US simply trying to survive an invasion from all other countries, or are they trying to essentially conquer the world.
In the first case, I think the US could succeed as a result of their geographic location within the world. There are no powerful militaries in the Western Hemisphere. This could allow the US to secure it pretty easily. Afterwards, other countries would have to cross either the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans and stage a D-Day-esque invasion, which would be almost impossible to achieve due to the US's technological superiority and general military strength.
In the second case, I do not think the US would have a chance. They could certainly use their technological advantage to bomb most major cities into nothing (without using nukes), but they would not be able to control these locations.
No question without politics, the US would win. However, with the liberal whining that would be going on and all the limitations they would be putting on us in fighting this war, we would lose.
Is the world attacking us, or are we attacking the world? I think we would stand a chance in a defensive battle. With out air power, we could maintain air supremacy over the US and make an invasion attempt incredibly costly before we even had to send troops in. If we started a draft, we could defend out borders, but we would have to sacrifice Alaska and Hawaii. The US is a pretty huge country to invade too, it'd take a hell of a lot of Chinese and Indian soldiers to actually take the place over. I say this assuming we had all of our people/military hardware in the US. If it was all spread out like it is today, we might be boned.
We could definitely not win a war where we are on the offensive. Too much ground to cover, not enough people/material to cover it. And given our current poitical situation, there is no support for an offensive war right now anyway, even if the rest of the world started the war.
meant to say "with our air power" not "with out air power".
china has more than 4 times the population of america. if 4 chinamen died for every 1 american, they would wipe us out alone. then there are more than 4 billion other people left to contend with. if it was all out, last-man-standing war between america and the rest of the world, i think we would run out of ammo anyway.
I think that we should have the option of taking on each country one at a time and they should have to attack us. Each time we beat a country we get to go back to full health and are given weapons upgrades. The last boss would be China and we would get to start off with African/Scandinavian/South American attackers and move up from there.
Two simple words answer this question: Chuck Norris.
End of thread, no need for further replies.
We would lose very badly. While America is at a distinct advantage technologically, the sheer hatred factor prevelant in other countries would ensure our demise. There isn't as much motivation in our country to demolish the rest of the world. Most American citizens just do not give a shit about the rest of the world. Meanwhile, much of the rest of the world would love nothing more than to see America become a wasteland of smoldering dead bodies. And they'd be more than happy to die a painful death for that scenario to play out. Combine that with the sheer size of the Chinese army and we're toast.
Now, on the other hand, if we were to unveil all of our alien spaceships from Area 51 (or where ever that stuff has allegedly been relocated), we have a good shot at avoiding annhilation.

That would be one kickass video game.
I don't get why people think the rest of the world "hates" America. I understand that there is a general resentment due to the fact that we are currently the world super power and are fairly arrogant about it. But I have found that most countries have this same arrogance and pride in their nationality and culture. I really don't think most of the world has enough animosity towards the U.S. to want to see it turned into "a wasteland of smoldering dead bodies".
That said, we simply do not have the numbers to win an offensive ware against the rest of the world. But the United States will never be invaded because of our military superiority and also because of our heavily armed citizenry.

That advantage would be negated by our limited manufactoring facilities. All the factory jobs that have gone overseas means that very little is actually made in the US. A good move, prehaps, if you are a corperation owner. Not a good move if you're at war with the countries that you've sent those factories to.

Easy, we get our asses handed to us on a stick unless we take Canada out of the "rest of the world". Even then we wouldn't last 6 months.
We fire up all the jets, ships, etc, and after about 45 days of bombing the sh*t out of stuff we run out of fuel. Russia and China take our overseas resources in a cakewalk, then move on Alaska and Hawaii. Commonwealths declare themselves independent now that they don't have to pay back anything.
Meanwhile back at the home front gas is $25 a gallon. China starts dumping dollars and our highly leveraged economy collapses. The end of worlders commence to hording and shoot anyone that steps inside rifle range, all the right wing nut bags commence playing GI Joe forming fifedoms in every nook and cranny. In 18-24 months we're a third world country with no functioning government and we splinter into a bunch of Balkanized regions and the country as it stands ceases to exist without a single foreign troop landing on the lower 48.
I think the first thing that would happen is a massive air/sea battle on the oceans. Remember, we'd have to defend our pacific and atlantic coasts at the same time. Not to mention oil. We would run out of oil within a month, meaning our air force would be useless. This would force us to invade south america to get at venezualan oil.
I suspect we wouldn't have enough bullets to kill all of our attackers, though. India and china alone could send a billion soldiers at us in crudely built ships.
I think that, asuming an offensive war (i.e. one where we just want to blatently take over the world), America would at least have a chance. Here is my breakdown:
Strengths:
1. Location: The western hemisphere is, outside of the US, full of weak armies. Latin America is full of 3rd world armies where we would have a distinct advantage technologically. Canada is sparsely populated and full of Canadians ('nuff said).
2. Technology: We have the best weapons
3. Well educated populous: Our knowledge base is much higher.
Weaknesses:
1. The world has more people than America (a lot more)
2. Some areas are as smart and have near the same tech that we have.
How the US can win:
I would say the best chance for victory would be to isolate areas and take them over one at a time. The first move I'd make would be to take over all of the western hemisphere north of the Panama Canal. As has been stated before, this would make an overland invasion hard so long as there is a large build-up at the canal.
After (If) taking N. America, I would go attack S. America. From there take Africa. Should this happen, it'd probably be best to make a move on Europe. This would be the make or break point in the attempt at world domination. Should the US be successful, it'd be pretty much game over for the rest of the world as I reall dn't see the Asian countries as a threat.
This is assuming that no nukes or icbm's are allowed
considering that we don't manufacture anything - all that needs to happen is for the rest of the world not to ship anything to us and we're done - until manufacturing could be revamped, which means that we are toast.
We would be screwed. We have no manufacturing base anymore. We can't get rubber. We don't have a ton of oil. Unless we could mobilize quickly, and shift our economy to sustaining a WW2 style war then we woulden't make it beyond a couple of years.
