I mostly run in the Mizuno Idaten racing flat. It's not as minimalist as you can get, but it works for me right now. I run in the Nike Free and Nike Oregon Waffle every now and then too.

The specific training advice I've received on LetsRun has only lead to frustration and slower times.
As noted earlier, it's all about what training keeps YOU confident and comfortable baby!
exercises to fix achilles problems.
exercises to fix the 'calf heart attack'.

have fun being injured this upcoming season :)
Um...what? Maybe you misinterpreted what I said. I said that R & R are underrated--that is, I don't do enough of them. Btw, I have never had a serious injury (one for more than 5 or 6 days).
I simply meant that I overtrain and race like crap when the season comes around. But 2008 is a new year with a new attitude, right?

I've learned that people will misinterpret good information and try to bash them.
I have learned that most Letsrunners are:
-good people
-helpful
-witty
-intelligent
-caring
-knowledgeable enough to present an opposing idea without personal attacks
Which is what I find with most runners I know and/or meet.
Good people. Smart and with plenty of attitude and attitudes.
i have learned that people that use powerpoint in this type of manner are morons.
That there is no RoJo, WeJo made him up as part of a marketing plan in college.
It's true.
How long was the transition? I have a vague recollection of a post of yours referring to the tibia, but was not aware you went minimalist.
If it helped, good for you.
I have learned that people like Mary Wittenberg, the Hansons, and Team USA Mammoth have done nothing to help distance running in the United States. But instead Glenn Latimer and Jim Estes have been solely responsible for all of the successes.
I learned Lynn Petronella was robbed of a potential Olympic medal. I learned she was Joan Benoit's coach though no one had heard of her. I also learned people on Letsrun do not think highly of her.
Lynn Petronella, William Jurena, sub 4 youtube mile - boy you better be sure of your facts because Letsrun is infested with private dicks.
Revenge is a dish best served on Letsrun.
You're girlfriend cheated on you? Tell how much of a bitch she is right here and let the world know!
I learned to take any training/racing advice offered on letsrun with a large grain of salt. There is some good advice here, but there are trolls posing as knowledgeable coaches who can quickly derail your progress if you listen to them (so kick up, jack).
I learned that some "runners" are serial liars.

I learned that 4x1200 in around 3:40 (we won't even touch that deleted 8x800m one) and feeling easy on it only gets you about 19:42 for a 5k. And then you can blame it on others. Even though you lied about everything anyway.
Discuss.
I learned from the guy who posts under "48" that the Munich Olympic marathon field was one of the greatest of all time, since it included the first two guys to run under 2:10, even though they could no longer do it in 1972.
None of the other runners had broken 2:12 before Munich, but it was a stellar field that was a "changing of the guard."
Even though the Los Angeles Olympic marathon field had 20 runners with sub-2:11 PRs going in and Munich had only two, this was 12 years after Munich. In other words, it represented normal progression. So 12 years after Los Angeles, there were 200 sub-2:11 guys going into the Atlanta Olympic Marathon. And in Beijing, there will be 2,000 guys with PRs of at least 2:10 in the Olympic marathon. So I learned that the improvement from Munich to Los Angeles was in line with the historical average.

I also learned there is a regular poster who is paranoid and thinks everyone who disagrees with him is evil. I learned this poster will resort to dirty tactics to try to defame honest contributors. I learned this posters is a coward who tries to hide under different user names. I learned that this poster is too stupid to realize that we know who he is (so kick up, jack). I learned that this troll has not learned from being banned multiple times and will continue to throw mud at innocent people, though most of us know when to shut up (me=now).
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
