That's like saying visiting someone's grave is disrespectful. Nonsense at best. (and your credentials for determining what is disrespectful are questionable...)

Alright Eddylee, what we gonna do this coming year? Let's get the thread going again... gotta know what the steps we gonna take to get the grand master plan implemented of a sub Fo 1500m this year. I knows you ain't got no XC season, but the indoor season be brewing. You should be prime and all incubated to let the wheels turn as you approach outdoor.
All I can say is that we with you and we gonna make the same effort. Don't nobody tell you nuttin' this time. We gonna make it real.
Jonesy (jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj), Boingo, BEER STEAK, and whoever else was on board need to come back. Letsrun.com followers needs some luv these days and a purpose for their existence.
This is a good example of why people mock and degrade people on Letsrun. The spelling and grammar mistakes, the childish, ghetto language, all of it. It is embarassing to write like this.
I promised myself not to check out the thread until I was close to breaking 4, but oh well... :-D
So far this season:
441 mile in Flagstaff
437 mile in Flagstaff
embarrassing 918 3k indoors
315 1200 dmr leg, 2hrs later 431 1600
this past weekend: 429 4x1mile split, 2hours later 201 800 split on 4x8....rainy day and wind
I'm running the 1500 open next Saturday.
I hope everyone is running well :-D
See ya, friends!!
Thanks for the update,
Let us know how you do on the up coming 1500. I'd like to see you break 4 this year.
Good workout in the afternoon today.
1200: 314, 600: 132
Wow eddylee, I think you're close to breaking 4!!!

Your 800 speed suggests that you can do it, but you are right on the edge. I would incorporate 3x1200 as a core workout (once every 7-10 days) and start at 3:24 with 3-4 min rest and work down to 3:18. If you can get there, go to 3x800 in 2:10 with 2-3 min rest. Finally, and this is my best predictor workout- 1200 3:15, 4 min rest; 400-600-400 90 sec rest at 64 pace.
If you keep your distance up this should also lead to a great 3k. Aim higher than 9:55 Good luck
eddylee, that workout sounds like you're close to this kind of shape from the suggestion on page one. promising.

You're on the way!
Next time you do this kind of thing - which should not be too often - try a few more reps on the end, shortening them so you can maintain pace. You've already done the hard one, but you'll get a bit more training effect out of the session. We used to do 1000-800-600-400 or 1200-600-400-400 or some such (with long rests) weekly pre-season, when there wasn't a race.
You also want to do some pace-change workouts. When you get to 1200 in 3:14 in a race, reflexes need to kick in to make you pick up that last 300 and kick for home, however tired you feel.
Hahaha I think he can do a lot more than 4:00 for 1500 if he does that. He obviously has a good aerobic system.
Glad to see the thread revived. I have had several more guys near or under 4:00 the last couple of years with the type of workouts I suggested. They work. This year, a high school jr has come down from 9:17, 4:16 to 8:59. 4:08. We will aim at 4:02-04 outdoors.
Edylee, its not your speed that's missing its your specific endurance. Good luck
Eddylee... 4:07.07 is this true? If so, nice jump from the indoor miles. You're on your way.
Eddy Lee - 4:04.13 Nice Job! Keep it going. You're looking good!
Definitely on the right track - 4:04 is pretty promising this early in the season. Keep it up, Eddy!
(What were the splits? How'd it feel?)
