Back off jerkwater! Eddy Lee doesn't NEED the pressure. He's progressing just fine, thank you very much. He'll crack 4:00 whenever he's good and ready. The important point here is that he will not quit until he reaches his goal. SO GET OFF HIS BACK ALREADY! Sheesh. |

Ah pressure! It's a beautiful thing. Can he handle it? Eddy has been making predictions since the beginning of this thread. If he continues to tell us he's in 4:05 shape or whatever, then I and others will call him out. I will get off his back after you stop sniffing his jock :) |

Well isn't this a fine how do you do? Don't you realize that pressure directly leads to worse performances. Every haranguing post makes his 1500 meters time .78 seconds slower. I again implore you to get off Eddy's back you sick little monkey. Given a long enough time line, all things are possible. |

Be careful with that "little monkey" comment. Howard Cosell caught a lot of flak for saying that. |

You presume that pressure is now mounting for Eddy. If Eddy's confidence wavers, that's when he will start feeling pressure. Pressure only exists if he allows it to exist. Let's see if he hits a 4:05 this weekend. .78 secs lost per haranguing post? Didn't realize that you invented the pressure equation for 1500m runners, lol! |

He was joking, Einstein. |
| .78 seconds |

That's what happened to Webb, he was the American record holder, then he started getting haranguing posts from letsrun and little Webber quickly became uncompetitive. Hell, with .78 seconds per post, theoretically it might take him months to complete the full mile. |

I consistently ran around 50 mpw over the summer that included usually 1 long run, 1-2 tempo runs/hill workouts, and 3-4 easy days every week. Today I ran a 13 min 3200 and a 6 min 1600. My legs felt trashed but still. Wow. And there were people who beat me running around 30 mpw. This is depressing. But I'll just keep working hard and hope I can improve. |

moderators: PLEASE, PLEASE delete this thread. I am tired of seeing it on the screen, knowing that it has gone NOWHERE other then a bunch of losers talking about their injuries with no more of a chance of breaking 4 for the 1500m than my 55 year old mom. enough already. get a real life. |

What is wrong with you? Haven't you ever heard of the human spirit? The body knows injury and pain, the mind knows self-doubt and senility, but the spirit knows no bounds. The spirit will not quit. And as long as the spirit presses forward so will this thread. This thread will NOT stop until Eddy Lee reaches his goal. |

Hey Jonsey... this message board has devolved into a mess. If you or any other serious runners on this thread want to stay in touch... I can be reached at my email. I'm sailin' onto the land of sub 4. BYE!!!! |

the thread pops up so often because a) people object to the very existence of a training/racing thread on a non-running message board, b) some idiot keeps recycling posts from this and other threads. |

Fine. I will stop posting reruns, (though who doesn't enjoy watching reruns of Gilligan's Island or Kate & Allie) but mark my words, if this thread reaches 2000 posts and 4 minutes has not been cracked, I will be back with a vengeance. |

Eddy's running a 1500m race this weekend. Let's see how he does. He claims to be in 4:05 shape. |

I predict a 4:24. Still 4 or 5 years away from a sub 4:00. |

And as this thread sadly fades into darkness, let me say that I am proud to have posted here and that these memories I hold so dear will remain bound to my beating breast. I know that no thread lasts forever, yet still I shed a tear for the glorious goal unrealized. |

This thread doesn't need to be deleted. It would just fade to black in peace if you jerks would just stop bumping this thread. Praise Jesus. |
