What if ziggy runs 10 more miles whilst drinking a 5th of bourbon?
Time to step it up!

How exactly did this challenge come about for Ziggy? Did he read about it on the net or did he get a verbal challenge from a teammate or what?
so in the middle of my 12 mile run today, some inspiration came to me from this thread. a movie needs to be made.
i threw together a preview in about 3 hours.
this is the result.

thanks to ziggy and the thread starter.
hope you enjoy.
Please make the movie. I can't remember the last movie I saw in a theater (Wedding Crahers probably?) but would wait in line and drive to Rochester (do I need a passport for that) with my son, Fred, to see this the first day its out.

Amazing! I wish we had got some footage from the week to make a movie with. Great idea. If you make the movie let us all know.
Good show old bean. This needs to have theatrical representation.
Yes, this film absolutely must be made!!! Classic...

I drink beers while taking showers (at times) so don't hate on the pastime. I also like to drink beers while taking a shit so it's all good in the hood, I guess.
When we first started dating, my girlfriend was very confused when she found various bottle caps in my shower. Some people just don't know.
Haha Rochester is safely in New York State it's a good 1:15 drive to Canada.
Ziggy,
Determination is the first word that comes to mind. Coma is the second. I wish you the deepest and most rewarding sleep of the year, I bet your body is pissed.
Bless you, Ziggy.
Frankly, I am inspired. You are a true champion.
Just wondering, but was Ziggy taking any OTC medicines?
I hope he wasn't taking tylenol or anything with acetaminophen in it. Combined with that much drinking it might be a good idea to get a liver function test in the near future.
This was great. Congrats Ziggy. Back in my running years at a small state school, we all considered the "100/100" club, but to my knowledge no one ever tried. We would wimp out and do the century club (100 shots of beer in 100 minutes). It is very impressive. Also, what are you doing post college with your chem degree?
Grote,
Didn't Joe Tuttle run 50 miles and drink 200 beers in one week at NC State?
I am completely speechless.
I got online this morning to check the boards, saw this thread, and honestly read every post in the 11 (or was it 12?) pages.
I have great respect for you Mr. Stardust. I myself can't really drink more than like 8 beers in a night, so for you to average on some days 18 beers, it is truly uncomprehendable for me.
I truly applaud you for your accomplishments.
Not sure on Mr. Tuttle...I was there for a very brief time (January through May of 1994) and am sorry to say that in that time I ran too much (and quite poorly) and drink too little (virtually zero) while there.
You would have to consult other experts on that one...would not surprise me, though. I remember a Super Bowl party at the house Tuttle and a few others lived in...I drank nothing...lame...what the hell was wrong with me?

Can't watch the youtube clip at work so I'm bumping this bad boy.
Congratulations to Ziggy.
Checking this thread periodically throughout the past week, I admit that I always came away with a sympathy hangover and nausea.

Wait, and you were calling Rupp a pussy??? Look tough guy, it appears that YOU were the one wearing the skirt most of the time when you were younger. And yeah, encouraging your son to try something like this is reallll smart.
Sure, I was young once too and did stupid shit like what Ziggy did (not as hard as what he accomplished, or possibly as stupid), and I regret most of it. Even Ziggy himself says: DON'T DO IT. Stop romanticizing this difficult, but ultimately dumb stunt.
Drinking and having fun is part of growing up, and it's good to party hard sometimes, definitely. But I see no glory in what Ziggy did. That many nights of binge drinking is just punishment, and trying to run a ton at the same time is just absurd. Maybe if I was 16 I would think it was cool, but.... I was an idiot when I was 16. Banging one's head against a wall 10000 times and not sleeping for 4 days straight would have been difficult too. It would not have been glorious though, and neither was this.
Stop admiring stupid crap.
Apparently, you have no testicals.
