Everyone here seems to have been affected by the loss of someone so promising, tough, young, and inspiring; let's do something to remember him that would make him smile. Dedicate your run tomorrow to Ryan Shay, and post your results here. Tomorrow's my day off, but I just got back from a hard 40 min tempo run. I got back home at 39 minutes and was tempted it end it there, but said to myself, "I doubt that Ryan Shay ever quit with a minute left," and ran it out. Thanks for being an inspiration, Ryan, even to those of us who know you only by reputation. Your wife, family, and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. |

This is an easy week, so only 85-90 minutes for the long run tomorrow. But it will be for Ryan. I don't understand why I deserve to be out breathing fresh air in the lush green countryside tomorrow, while he is lying in a funeral casket somewhere. Why the f*** doesn't this universe make sense? |

Great idea. I'm coming back from an injury and have my first long run in months scheduled for tomorrow. It's been really mentally tough for me to get back into it. I'm sure everyone here knows the frustration of injuries and understands how it feels to go from in shape and competitive to getting winded on what should be an easy jog. I will make my first real run (and my recovery) a tribute to a man who has already inspired so many. |

I was planning to sleep late and watch the Marathon tomorrow. Now I'm headed toward the Central Park Bridle Path where I've crossed paths with Ryan. Then to the Boathouse. I'll cry but I won't stop. Thank you for this idea. |

Hey, Sunday is my day off. I spend it with my wife with some rare together time. But, you know what? It'll keep. She'll be home when I get back. I'll just get up an hour early. Each and every step will be for Ryan tomorrow. I'M IN! David |

I haven't posted much in here lately. Today was the last day in the world that I thought I would come in here and check things out. I was avoiding all possible Trials coverage I could, but after my wife told me about this I had to come in here. I met Ryan back at the 2004 Trials, I didn't really know him but he seemed like a nice guy. After coming up short in my qualifying attempts this time around I wanted nothing to do with hearing about the Trials. My final qualifying attempt was taken from me when I can down with Pericarditis (yes a minor heart condition). When I heard the news I was sick to my stomach. That could have been me. My loss of the Trials was nothing now compared to what Ryan's family had lost and this puts my things in perspective. I will be spending extra time with my family enjoying every minute. I will be dedicated my run to Ryan tomorrow. RIP Ryan, Chad Worthen |

Dealing with an injury, but I'll be thinking about him during my pool run tomorrow. I thought things were bad being confined to the pool, but now I realize how lucky I am. You're in my prayers Ryan. |

I've got a tempo around Buffalo Park tomorrow. Last time I saw him he was doing hill repeats up Cedar by the park - I'll tack on a few just for the heck of it. Going to be a tough day out there for a lot of people tomorrow. |

I'm totally in! I was even gonna take tomorrow off due to a slight injury, but I'm getting out the door in honor of Ryan. I don't care if I can only hobble around the block a time or two -- it's dedicated to Ryan. |
