They have calulations for many conversion with finishing times, such as elevation, temperature, etc. Do they have one for running a track race in the wind. If not, how much would you subtract running a mile on the track with a 20 mph wind? |

about 4 minutes. That or divide your time by pi. Whichever gives the faster time is most likely the better one. Wind is crazy dude. |

headwind 15 mph @ 6min pace=5min pace 9% tail wind help @15mph 19% headwind hurt @15mph based on VO2 reduction or increase 252 tail wind 329 head wind 9:15=9:41 with 15 mph wind 555 total time 277.5 in wind 277.5 against wind 15:45=16:30 with 15 mph wind 472.5 in wind 430 conversion 472.5 with wind 561 conversion This is from Daniels research...I've found that the conversions are a little fast and if it's around 15 mph that's worth 10 seconds over the course of a mile. It isn't a linear progression though, so at 20 mph it wouldn't be 13 seconds, it'd be more like 14 or 15 due to the beginning of the exponential curve at that wind speed. |
