I need some help building a winter training plan. This is what I plan on doing: I'll take a week of after my state xc meet. After that I'll just build up to about 70 miles a week for 4 weeks. During this time I'll do one tempo run a week. I'll also add one AM run a week until I'm running before school 5 days a week. After the first four weeks, I'll add 3 days on the track. I'll start my track workouts with some short intervals (100-400) at goal mile pace (4:21), then I'll do some longer intervals (400-1200) at my current mile pace. I'll gradually decrease the recovery and time of these intervals until my current mile pace is equivalent to my goal mile pace. I'll also be doing one 12 mile long run a week. I'll also try to maintain my miles/week at 60 miles. Does this sound like a good plan? Feel free to critique it...
