Best -- Coe, Decker, Viren, Elliot, Ryun, Ovett, Shorter.
Worst -- (besides me) Zatopek, Salazar, de Castella
-- Spidey
There was that Japanese marathoner who listed so badly to one side he always looked on the verge of toppling over. Ran maybe 2:10-2:11 in the late 1980's/early 1990's or thereabouts. Not one of the Soh brothers but a contemporary.
taniguchi i think you mean. he was bad alrightBest - Has to be Kiptanui. The guy was sublimeWorst - The chinese girl who led the 10k WC this yr. She had zero hand movement. If a bigger name is needed i'd say Mark Everett.

Some others not mentioned -
Best - Cram, Borzakovskiy, Geb (he's smooth).
Worst - Ngugi, Schultz.
zakharova, who won woman's Boston this year, has pretty awful form.
her compatriot, denisova, who came in 3rd or 4th in the same race, has beautiful, textbook-perfect form.
shows how much form means.

Cram had some serious external rotation of his lower leg. His feet planted at about 45 degree angles instead of straight ahead.
I'll toss in a vote for Crammy. When running fast, he was very smooth. Filbert Bayi was smooth and had the same problem. I'd say 1:42 and 3:29 are pretty good, even if one doesn't like his form : }.
i'd have to go with wilson kipketer for being the most smooth...the guy runs like a wheel
Ryun didn't really have great running form. His head was all over the place.
Cram had external rotation? What was the inside of his leg doing? The whole leg was doing the barber pole thing.

This kid obviously just started reading Coe's book.

Taniguchi did look pretty strange, although it was kind of cool the way he skittered over the road like a sand crab.
The Chinese girl in the 10k (who also, I believe, led the women for much of the way in the Boston Marathon a few years ago) gets my vote.

Ryun had superb form - when he was kicking, sprinting. His head did roll though, when he cruised along.
worst- suzy favor hamilton
Jerome Drayton had great form.
Florida's Daniel Parker
Many bests, but the worst i've seen:
Pat Peterson...Gary Rommesser
They were/are great though
Marathoner Margeret Okayo with her complete elbow bend at all times.
Carl Lewis had superb form. Sure, he's a sprinter, so what?
Borzokovskiy has great form, provided he's not rigging, which can happen to any 800 guy. Kipketer too, but when he rigs, man, get out a walker.
