I've noticed that the rubber bands on the arms of football players are become more and more prevalent. The band is thin and usually is worn just above the elbow. What is the point of these bands?

Pumped veins for injecting 'roids?
Bicep Bands.
Or as I like to say, just another place for the swoosh.
Why? Sweat, bloody astroturf elbow, ball grip, cool factor, advertising, etc...
I thought these were for functional purposes. Runners have pattstrap type stuff for patellar movemen.. maybe football players use them when they have ligament issues?
Kind of like breathe right strips.

I don't think - if so then there's ligament issues all the way down to peewee placekickers.
It is funny how the little dudes emulate the big boys. I was at a Little League game this summer and all the outfielder, while they were warming up between inning would take "dives" as they caught the ball. I just imagined they were doing so because that's what they see the pro's do on ESPN highlights.
Then after seeing that, it really made me worry about all the negative stuff they see on SportsCenter, drugs, arrests and all that good stuff.

Bingo.
It's a culture type of thing in that sport. They are referred to as " ballers ". Actually that's how the Livestrong bracelets came to pass. Nike had all these " baller' bracelets left over and thought, why not sell them at a $1 a pop and donatate all the $$ to Lance's foundation. Little did they know they would have to make more, a good thing.
So they serve no functional purpose at all? They are just to look good? Also, I've never noticed any logos on these things. How can a logo even fit on one of those bands?
tourniquets
prevents their biceps from rupturing. Of course if they did not do 'roids they wouldnt have these tendon issues.
Hi buddy, even I am curious about that, what you feel?
