Strike while the iron is hot. Go Kara!
Eat while the sauce is hot!
On the one hand, Bob Sevene swore to me up and down that Alberto Salazar was dirty in his glory days and he's a pretty high profile person with credibility.
On the other hand, Adam and Kara Goucher would never take illicit, performance-enhancing drugs. I've known them for years and that is the one thing they stand for is no to drugs. Adam is completely righteous in that regard and so is Kara. when in PDX I had them over to dinner and they raged against drug users for an hour to Kathy Newberry's sister. When I mentioned someone was calling the Gouchers out for drugs she scoffed at the notion.
So the Gouchers have an altitude tent? Check. Anti-gravity treadmill? Check. Team of coaches, physical therapists, etc.? Check. Ideal soft-surface training evironment catered to their maximal performance? Check. All of Nike's built-in material advantages? Check.
But the Gouchers on any sort of banned drugs or performance enhancements? NO WAY.
So your argument is their association with Alberto Salazar makes them guilty somehow. I don't buy it. This is the first stretch Kara Goucher has been healthy for a long time in her career. Remember the compartment syndrome surgeries, and the other injuries that have dotted her running career. She is now fully healthy and 28 years old. She ain't no druggie.
If you have other evidence, please share it. Otherwise, you might want to reconsider why you continue to cast aspersions against the Gouchers.
I must have missed 60 Minutes. What are you saying?

How do YOU know FOR SURE?? You don't know what they really 'stand for', you only know what they tell you they 'stand for'. How do you feel that you really know them well enough to know that they say what they really mean?
Stealing lines from Die Hard?
She will run the Olympic Trials Marathon and finish first. Count on it!

But I don't believe in guilt by association.

I think the people who have really followed my career from the time I was seven years old can see my steady progress and see the type of person and athlete I am.

I met Mr Conte a number of years ago, and we had a conversation or two. Did our conversation involve talking about any performance-enhancing drugs? No.

So, tell us the story of Galen Rupp through your Rose colored glasses.
kinda funny ...
Last night, on Enquête, a Radio-Canada television magazine, Jeanson told journalist Alain Gravel that she used EPO at races such as the Montreal World Cup on Mont-Royal, a race she won four times in her career, and prior to the 2003 World Championships in Hamilton.
For the majority of the interview, Jeanson adamantly denied using the drug or taking transfusions, arguing that her career success was based solely on training, vitamins and the use of a hypoxic tent nearly 300 days per year.
For a cyclist who took EPO her entire career, Jeanson only officially failed one doping test, at the Tour de ‘Toona in 2005. During her interview, she explained that by stopping EPO five days before an event, a positive test could easily be avoided. Up until now, Jeanson has always maintained that the result at the Tour de 'Toona was a false positive and not the result of having used performance-enhancing drugs.
later that day ...
It was only near the end of Thursday's program, after a series of interviews with Gravel, that Jeanson finally admitted to using the banned performance-enhancing drug.
Why would you associate Marion Jones, CJ Hunter, Tim Montgomery and all with the Gouchers? That is the silliest comparison I have seen on this board. You are suspicious because if you had any talent whatsoever you would use PEDs without batting an eye.

He's employing typical "Let's Run" logic: If someone happens to meet or exceed lofty expectations, well, that person must be on the juice (Goucher, Lagat). If they don't meet those lofty expectations, then that person is a loser or a head case (see Webb and Ritz.) Many Let's Run posters will simply never be satisfied. How sad.
uhhh ... Latat - positive sample uhhh ... and one inconclusive.

One positve sample, and one NEGATIVE, which negated the positive. But hey, why pay attention to facts when trying to prove your point point? You pimply faced high-schoolers are going to have to come up with better evidence if you want to convict some of these guys. You have every right to be suspicious of Lagat. Fine. But there's not enough evidence to convict him. Not for a reasonable adult, anyway. You can't convict a guy on suspicion alone.
Why would such righteous and honest athletes such as the Gouchers and Rupp associate themselves with someone with a very dubious past such as Salazar?
It's like all these guys being managed by Hermanns. Surely the hit on your reputation is too much. Unless to succeed you need to be associated with such people that is.
Anyway, I think Kara will run well this weekend, that is if her thyroid isn't giving her too much trouble.
The only reason you wrote this, is so you could tell people you had the Gouchers over for dinner. I once heard Eddy Hellebuyck rage against drugs, too.
SHE NEEDS TO DUMP ADAM .HE IS TOO UGLY FOR HER.
How could that be the case if they don't bother to identify themselves? Wouldn't they claim their name to get credit for having the Gouchers over for dinner? Yours seems like an illogical point.
How well did Mrs Goucher run in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006?
How long has she been with Salazar?
Dubious to me!
It also amazes me that Lagat was doing feck all during the summer. Disappeared off for a few weeks and came back flying.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
