IU will beat ISU badly at Regionals just like every year. Even during ISUs best year ever in 2005, the Hoosiers destroyed them at regionals without john jefferson and tim mcleod and mark fruin who were all in the top 7. IU made NCAAS, ISU didnt. Again, last year during IUs worst season in over a decade, with no studs and arguably less high school talent than ISU, IU still murdered the sycamores at regionals and nearly made it to NCAAS. Jordan Kyle was 33rd at NCAAS as a walkon freshman who ran 9:15 in HS. Indiana State does get guys of that caliber...have any been all american in CC? Also, how can you judge the characters of current IU athletes by how the guys acted like 10-15 years ago. I dont think Fife, Bowman, and Walsh are worthless pieces of shit just because Wayton was/is. The current and recent ISU guys seem very cool and also they are good runners. Its too bad Wayton and other ISU runners from lesser days give them a bad name on this board. |

Why do all you IU runners and X IU runners think you are all gods? Hell IU xc isn’t even the best xc program in the state! You talk about what ISU has done at the national level, besides Champman taking a Low 4 min miler from high school and winning a VERY down year in the indoor mile, IU hasn’t done anything as well. All IU and ISU people on here are way off base. All you have pride for the programs you ran for and that’s great, but get off your high horse! You all should respect each other for running and loving the sport you all compete in, cross country. Best XC teams in the state of Indiana 1. ND 2. Butler 3. IU 4. ISU 5. USI 6. Purdue |

Speaking of someone who doesn't have the spine to put a name behind the post, MNMNMN, either your parents really hated you or you are just as "spineless" as I am. Truth be told, the only poster on this entire thread who got it right was x-tree (who said there was no way I could have gone to ISU). Think about it: Did I really allude to anything that I couldn't have read in previous threads, TH Trib articles, the ISU athletics page or that lame X-Trees.com site during the span of a half-hour? No. Obviously, all the other claims were simply BS to get your dander up. And judging by all the blue-bleeding Sycamores who rushed to the defense of Indiana State, it clearly worked. It's been fun. Check yourselves the next time you want to prop up a dump like Terre Haute, and keep some perspective. You've been royally had; laugh at it and move on. Regards, H. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that the ISU runners and the IU runners are friends or not. BUT, I have several friends that run at ISU and really respect the IU runners. I've never heard them say anything bad about them. I don't know if the IU guys feel the same way or not. Despite what the old relationships between ISU and IU were back in the 90's, it's not like that anymore. ISU is typically the inferior school so of course they get excited when they can beat IU. They only run like 5-6 races each xc season so they want to make the most of it. Don't let a few idiots who want to stir up trouble between these 2 teams actually let it happen. Both teams are full of great guys who work hard and love to compete. |

right, very down year. that sounds accurate. the guy you're talking about also kicked down nick willis at big ten's the following year, and finished second to him at ncaas just weeks later due to a tactical error. and his bro was 2nd at NCAAs his freshman year...and also kicked down nick willis. just about the only guy that could beat the jeffersons and haas on the track in the big ten for those years was nick willis. well, he and matt tegenkamp. man, it must suck to be second place to those two no-talent assclowns. i'm sure ISU has plenty of guys that could've done the same. |

...Worthless POS.....classy...IU classy...what was your name again?...oh yeah- ballsy of you.. Hardly a POS- good career- good life- everything's swell. I owe it all the great opportunities given to me by Indiana State University- Academically and athletically..good to be a tree. Also gave me the guts necessary to stand on my word...something Iu grads have obviously lacked as evident by this thread. Again- reminds me of a dateline special by Christopher Hanson. Same quality of guys who are sending 12 year old girls weiner shots...pathetic |

Man, youve really got some issues if you care so much about tearing down IU and everyone ever associated with the program or the school. That is just weird and ignorant. I am friends with several people who ran for ISU and there are some people from that team who i disliked a bit. Hell, the same goes for my own teammates, most i liked and a few i didnt care for much. Its a pretty sad way to go through life lumping everyone together because of things like what school they went to. Oh well, no one currently on either team cares what you say anyway, its just funny how hostile you are towards an entire institution....psycho. Keep hitting that refresh button for this thread so you can feed your obsession. |

This is great! ND feels the same way about IU as IU feels about ISU. IU can never beat us in cross and never will. |

Yes, i know ND owns IU in cross for the most part, but in 2003 IU was 12th at NCAAs and ND failed to qualify, also in 2002 i think IU beat them a few times including regionals. (meets larger than intercollegiates) |

Go back and read the thread....ISU kids got torn down for winning. It is weird. If Indiana State would have beaten another school like Valpo I doubt Valpo fans would have written how much Indiana State sucks. I ran at Intercollegiates when Indiana State first won and at that time everyone was happy not that they won but that Indiana lost. I think Butler actually got 2nd that year. Everyone was gunning for IU. Why is anybody on here claiming that IU is better than Indiana State as a school- I don’t think anyone can argue on Indiana State’s behalf. If you look at this post no one from Indiana State- even Waytonk are saying that Indiana State is a better school. Indiana State has a quarter of the student, a millionth of the endowment etc etc......duh. If IU beat Harvard in math you think Harvard would get on here and state the obvious? No, because they're intelligent. I think it’s cool that there’s an Indiana State faithful- for the same reason that there is a Gonzaga faithful and a Marshall faithful. Smaller schools need fans too. If I was running now and I won I’d expect alums to chime in and come to my support. I don’t know the Waytons but my high school teammate ran with them. Apparently they’re not bad guys- just really over the top. God forbid if people are over the top in our sport. |

you're not waytonk- you're not even gtonk. Well- I was in that race - it was '97 and to be honest IU was in slump that year- we were too. First big race on a great new course....that was in horrible shape that year. It was a good race- Butler was awfully good that year. Who's your buddy from HS? ...."over the top"?...guilty. Can't help it. |

Likewise, Waydonk. I invested less time in my little practical joke than you did responding to it, so you're in no position to judge the quality of my life. (Which, by the way, is a pretty damn good life infused with humor -- albeit odd humor.) You might want to take a look in the mirror, though. How good is your life that, at 30-something, you still worship a Sycamore leaf and maintain a truly unhealthy obsession with hating the Indiana University track and XC programs. Sounds like someone might want to start hitting 100mg of Zoloft every day. |

u think this crap happened when Appy state knocked off michigan? You think Michigan people started yelling about how bad Appalachian state's school of business is? Indiana's strange. |

"Who's your buddy from HS?" sorry Waytonk. I got my subject lines mixed up. I shouldn't say. He didn't last long at ISU. But he does tell some funny stories about the team soometimes. |

Sorry, but the past is moot. There's been a turning of the tide the past few months in Indiana. The recent results speak for themself. |
