D3 is JV
here's a clue -- so d3 has moved up from middle school to jv overnight? For those not paying attention, see the d3 south region thread. I'd like to see you run your fat ass against some of the 14:xx d3 guys.
This thread got off to a poor start. So Ive tried to get it back on track.
Here are the top 25 returners, based off of what they did at last years regional cross country race.

This is simply information. What are some predictions?
I think ncc will make a nice comeback this year. I'll pick them ftw, and at worst second.
jeff pentek from norberts should be on that list too. Ran 30:30 in the 10k and ran a couple of great road races over the summer. He'll have an individual slot.
BUMP!!!!!!!
Out of the current Top 35 Rankings (Preseason), there are 8 teams that are from the MW Region.
LaCrosse - 3
NCC - 6
Wheaton - 9
Oshkosh - 12
Platteville - 17
Stevens Point - 22
Augustana - 28
Elmhurst - 32
Not too shabby!

You're right. I missed Pentek. Good luck to him.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Sigl run 23:50 at regionals on that pancake flat *cough* short *cough* course.
where's the regional course?
I believe lorenzen was on the list with a 14:34 5k and a 30:49 10k.
Lake Breeze, WI. UW-Oshkosh's course. Wide open and flat. Run the tangents and you'll probably run less than 8k.
I ran at the UW Osh Kosh course at Nationals many years back (I hate to date myself) and the course it the stereotypical Midwest course. Flat, can be breezy, but should be fast if conditions are good.
On another note, if you haven't checked out D3Running.com yet, it is probably worth a look. It is starting off slow, but it definitely has potential. Plus these threads would be a lot easier to find on their message boards.
sub 24 would be pretty spectacular...however i do see him running realistically around 24:10 or so. If Kaul ran under 24:30 by himself last year on this course, i'm sure sigl can run faster. Although looks like Sigl will be running by himself this year since Kaul is sitting out. Bummer :( But i'm sure Sigl will just do what he has to do at regions in order to make sure his peak performance is at nats.
Butzler will be in the mix.
i still think butz is more of a track guy, and while he will be in the top 8 or so at the region meet, i think it will be a struggle for him to finish top 25 at nats.
Butzler was easily 3rd at Regionals last year wasn't he? I think that a top 3 finish once again will be easy for him as well as a top 8 but whatever he just needs to jog it and qualify for nationals then let it rip.
