when was the last time that happened?
when was the last time that happened?
and only one kenyan
Teg looks really strong. Seemed to just be moving at will out there. Lagat was just doing his thing and then kicked up. It seems to be looking good for the final.
It has never happened.
2 kenyans eliud kipchoge and 2005 world 5k champ benjamin limo made it.
Actually there is a tie: 2,5 Americans (Teg, Goucher & Lagat) and 2,5 Kenyans (Limo, Kipchoge and Lagat).
Do we have the most qualifiers out of any country...?
LOL

1 ERI
1 QAT
1 ESP

1 UGA
Bit worried about Goucher though, looked like his thyroid problem started to flair up on the last lap.
Forget kenya or ethopia team tactics, how about usa team tactics?
nice, has that ever happened with us (US) as the most?

Yea of the americans, goucher looked the weakest, maybe he'll be better in the finals, who knows.
as usual ex-kenyan USA will be medal contender the other just forget them
It will be a fantastic final.
I have high expectations for Teg and Lagat, and I'm pulling for Goucher.
Goucher made it, which is all that matters. This has been a good distance WC's for the US.
Just a thought, maybe the Americans need to get in the lead and run 3 across and not let anyone pass. Elbow, tackle whatever it takes, but don't lose that lead, ha ha.

Adam has been complaining about chronic issues with his Isle of Langerhans since the beginning of the summer.

if an white american one this race then kenyan and ethiopian will never and ever compete in the coming olympic or we will cut their head using Bushedo blade by borrowing from Japan we are confident to such extent you moron
mesfin you're a weirdo.
Yea, abdi, then lagat, now the most runners from any one country in the 5k final. It's looking good for the US squad.
100 - Gold
200 - Gold/Bronze
400 - ???
800 - :-\ ???
1500 - Gold
5k - ???
10k - 7th/9th
If we snipe a medal in the 5k and sweep the 400 this will be quite the year. Looking good for 2008.

Don't think so. I was keeping close tabs on his thyroid the entire race and it looked absolutely fine. He'll be good to go in the final.
Let's look at how everyone stands if ordered by their respective PR:
1. Eliud Kipchoge 12:46
2. Tariku Bekele 12:53
3. Abraham Cherkos 12:54
4. Benjamin Limo 12:54
5. Hicham Bellani 12:55
6. Craig Mottram 12:55
7. Bernard Lagat 12:59
8. Moses Kipsiro 13:01
9. Matt Tegenkamp 13:04
10. Mohammed Farah 13:09
11. Adam Goucher 13:10
12. Ali Abdalla 13:10
13. Juan Luis Barrios 13:11
14. Jesus Espana 13:15
15. Felix Kikwai Kibore 13:20
So Tegenkamp is ranked as the 9th fastest, Lagat the 7th fastest, and Goucher 11th fastest by PR's in the 5000m. In Tegenkamp's heat, looks like he ran 2:27 for the last 1000m. Looks like he could be in good shape to place well. Lagat as well.
Top 5 finishers:
1. Lagat
2. Kipchoge
3. Mottram
4. Limo
5. T. Bekele
