You ran the 600 yards in indoor and as a presidential fitness test?
Was this when we were still trying to get to the moon?
This post was removed.
the 1:25 was in 10th grade gym class, not as a part of the team.
The other time was in an indoor meet and they actually had a 600 yard run.
ran 1:31 in 8th grade
Way to brag.
I ran a 1:23, thread over.
When I was in middle school and they had the Presidential Fitness Test, I was a chubby little prepubescent boy. I could barely do one pull-up, and I totally sucked in the 600 yard run. In the 6th grade, I could not run a mile at all. In the 7th grade, I could run one, but the time was 9:47. Yes, NINE 47, for ONE mile. I started jogging by myself a few times a week and then my best mile time was 6:30 in my 8th grade year.
1:19 in the 9th grade... school mark
Ran an 11 flat 100 yards in 9th grade on the street during gym class.
I could have been a contndah, but self esteem issues and a horrible home life kept me from competing.
No clue, but I think in the 7th grade I could only run a 100m in 17 sec. Heck my frosh year my 800 PR was only 2:20.
We all know those 600yd. tests were not very accurate. Remember running 1:27 in the 8th grade to break the school record only to find out days later that the kid in the next gym class ran faster.
Ran 1:12.7 in college.
We only did the Presidential fitness tests in elementary school, and we ran a mile. The only time I remember was 7:58 in the fourth grade. My best event was the pull ups though, where I could rip off about 35 straight. That was a shit load better than anybody else in the school, except for one kid who could do around 40.
I:32 in 8th grade.
I ran a 1:32 in the 600 in 6th grade (school record that likely still stands) and a 2:09 in the 800 in 7th grade track--which was actually for 2nd place!
6th grade was about 2:05
8th grade I think was low 1:40’s.
7th grade I went to a different school. The president fitness test was actually the football agility/strength test. Perfect for me at 4’7” and 76 lbs. It was not scaled for age or grade either. The only running was a ridiculous shuttle run that I ran by just having verbal direction. I had not seen it run before. Did awful overall.
Mile was starting in 9th. I think my progression was 6:35, 6:06, 5:3X, 5:20.
Personally, I think it was 1600m and not a mile.
No records set. Can I still be a cool kid?
All you people really ran a 600m for the gym class fitness test? Am I dating myself here? It was quarter mile, half mile then mile as you got older where I’m from.
It was yards not meters you commie
The four of us on 9th grade 4 x 440 yard relay team all ran sub-86 600 yards in P.E class. The fastest amongst us raced 79. It was early in track & field season. The four of us racing sub-86 set the relay team. P.E. instructor was also head T&F coach.
