Reference?
The complete Astana Team has quit the Tour.
Wow. How does one test positive for a blood transfusion? What is it they labs look for? Blood type must be the same for the person to receive an infusion...so what is the signal that the rider got some other blood?

Oh my god. Not again. The sport doesn't need this...not now.
Is anyone clean in that sport anymore?
And why are they so inept at cheating?
Thanks for the reference.
This seriously sucks. I felt so bad for Vino after he was forced to quit last year when he appeared innocent. He was my favorite rider in the tour for his hard as nails attitude.
I've watched this year's edition with half the interest I've usually had. F cycling. We'll see how this story develops, but it doesn't look good. I'm done following professional cycling.
this sport is DEAD>..no one cares any more.
Velonews has it now.
I have to admit I was a big fan of cycling but I am beyond tired of new doping allegations that seem to pop up on a weekly basis in the sport of cycling. If it isnt a current riding being popped it is some old rider confessing his sins years later.
The sport is seriously f***ed. I am not sure how it can survive with continued allegations like this. I mean what the hell is wrong with these guys and how do they not think they are going to get caught. Like the previous poster I am pretty much over cycling.

The testing is pretty straight forward. Explanations are all over the internet as to the details of the analysis.
Also today, a German newspaper has brought a story about Contador being involved in Operacion Puerto, but under what resembles a plea bargain, "Document #31" which implicates him was sealed in exchange for his testimony against Dr. Fuentes and other clients. It was a dosage chart which said "A.C. nothing or same dosage as J.J."
Contador is one of the riders Jorg Jaksche (the likely "J.J.") ratted out last month - they both rode on Liberty Seguros who was excluded from the Tour last year. Contador was among the riders later "cleared" and I guess we now know why. If the report is true.
If this turns out to be true, it could possibly be the final straw that breaks cyclings back.
Didn't this happen last year? One of the favorites absolutly bombs, and the next day storms back into contention with an amazing breakaway, only to fail a drug test.
But last year it was an American, so he was clean.

You gotta wonder how bad T and F was the past 15 years. In fact, you gotta wonder how bad T and F still is. If you think people running the roads, especially marathons, aren't doping on similar levels, then you're nuts.
I don't know why I'm so shocked, but I am. Maybe because that come back was kind of inspirational, like Landis' comeback.
Jaksche admitted Doping, Contador on the other side got protection and his name was erased from the list, Valverdes name was not erased but however doesnt face any consequences, take DNA samples of every ride and compare them with the blood bags found in Fuentes office and you have another 10-15 suspended riders.

All the ones cheating who haven't been caught aren't really as inept, are they?
