I emailed Dean yesterday on his website (http://www.ultramarathonman.com/flash/contact.php) and asked him whether it really was him who posted earlier on the thread.
I'll let you know when I get a response.
He said that it wasn't him who posted, although he has been to this site before.
You morons who really thought it was him should be castrated.
I'm guessing that when he wins the ESPY LetsRun will lose 90% of its audience as they will all drop dead ....but trust me..he's a lock...
hey ouijeau, i think that letsrun should sponsor a 15 or 20 person team of anti deaners and see if they could match or surpass his accomplishments. get some publicity. if so, then they could put to rest this america's greatest runner business once and for all. if they fail, then maybe people would have a little more respect for him. it'd be interesting i think.

I emailed him as well after you said you did and I never got a response. Post what you say he sent you and I'll be more likely to believe it.

So, you have two choices:
1.) Wait
2.) Email him again, but use a slightly different wording and a different email address. His email provider might have mistook your email as spam.
I'm just saying that it's equally plausible that Dean Karnazes came on here and posted that. Some guy saying he got an email response from Dean doesn't necessarily make it true.
You think Dean cares what a bunch of message board tools think of him? seriously, the guy was at the ESPY's and you are wondering why he hasn't emailed you back about some Let's Run crap...
the guy is in his 40's with a good family, appears to live a good life, and you wonder why he can't be bothered here...nice...keep waiting..and make sure you watch the ESPY's..

That is a really, really good idea.
How about it, critics? Ready to actually man up and do something to back up what you're saying? Or is it easier to sit there and whine?
Forget 15-20. How about 100? Round up 100 DK critics. Give them a full year to train for the event of their choice - but it has to be 100 mile distance or better.
Then go out and show us what a mediocre athlete Karnazes is.
It should be easy. Right?

That's kind of the point there, brainchild. It ought to take just one of these critics to prove their point.
But I say you could let 100 try at once, and not even one would back it up.
So who's running Badwater next year? Some of these big talkers have to be ready to show what a "real" athlete is, right?
Why do people have such a beef with Karnazes? If someone thinks he's a freak show or a joke then pay no attention to him. If you are amazed by what he does, then follow him. Why all the drama?
Why do people have such an obsession about this subject that they need to bump a thread that was SEVEN MONTHS dead?
bump
Oh Bob, the idea of 100 runners throwing away a legitinmate regional-level running career for running over 100 miles at a hideously slow pace is laughable. The talent disparity is so obvious to even the most rote of mathmeticians. These guys would obliterate Dean Karnazes in a 100 or more mile race with the work. But it would off-set their legit sub 30:00 10K goal aspirations and that trade-off is not worth it to prove a point to the likes of you. The talent differential between Dean Karnazes and say a top-level Kenyan is so astounding Dean would be buried so far back it would not even be relevant. If you can't wrap your brain around this inherent talent differential then you are either a persistent troll, sucking Dean's cock, or one hell of a troll, in which case, well done.
