*Brutal* RE: Bryshon Nellum : the next Michael Johnson? 7/8/2007 6:54AM - in reply to terps Reply | Return to Index | Report Post We'll never see a 10.09/19.32/43.18 guy again. More of a freak of nature than just another track athlete. He can't do it, otherwise I'll have to change my ATM password..... |

Please. Waaay to early to tell. Elzie Coleman ran 45.xx INDOORS as a high schooler. Where is he now? Calm down. It is still in question whether Wariner will do it, let alone this fool. |

and there is the first-hand knowledge of the actors in play that assists this discussion along. i too believe that if you observe Nellum's mechanics and effort in the races available to the general public, he is a young star with a bright future. |

Yeah, this list could go on an on about which were were fast and to many things happen that cause them to disappear. Nobody mentioned Clinton Davis though. Bottom line....shit happens. As far a the next Michael Johnson, why wouldn't X-Man have a chance if he just kept off of the booze? |

I hope he stays healthy. I saw the tv coverage of The Masters Meet prior to the state finals. He ran down a guy with about a ten meter lead. The guy ran about a 46.02 and Nellum ran sub 45 to catch and pass him. He is smooth. There was talk of him thinking about playing football after his freshman year at USC. What a mistake that would be. |

Bryshon Nellum defenetly has the chance to be the next MJ,the kid has no one that is his age as his speed and yet keeps trainig to get quicker and better.I mean some one else would of been satisfied and qould stay that way,but Bryshon is defenetly showing he could doit. And I believe he can. |

The guy, Guttierez (sp?), Nellum ran down this year at the Masters meet held him off last year in the 4 x 400 at the state meet and actually ran a faster leg than Nellum. Gutieriez is also very talented but had been injured much of this year. I don't know if he he plans to play football or concentrate on track. If he concentrated on track, I wouldn't be suprised if he ended up being at least as good as Nellum. |

Nellum is one of a kind and we all know that he has talent and a great heart that keeps him pushing thats why he will be great in his future.I also believe that there is no teenager his age that could top him bryshon has no competition. |

Nellum is back with 4th overall in 45.16, and advances to final after all that's happened over the last few years. Can he make the team to London? That would be quite a comeback. |

He made it! Nice story, great comeback! |

It's odd that the NBC announcers keep referring to him having been shot in a "random shooting." He was shot in both legs which to me makes it pretty clear that the shooting was anything but random. Obviously the people who shot him knew who he was. It is a great comeback for him. He should get a gold in the 4x400 and has a shot at a bronze in the open 400m. |
