What programs are you guys using to do this? Would Paint.net work?

didn't mean to snatch your logo. i only wanted to change the track so i just did a mock up of yours. when i had finished i figured i should share it.
about the flashy stuff, i wasn't sure what wejo is doing with the cleanmud site, but i liked it much better. Having just spotted that the link to it is down, I assume it isn't going to happen. But CleanMud has it listed as "in progress" so who knows. BUT I do think a site redesign is needed.
I love the original snail logo though...classic.
Too much time on my hands this evening, here's another option. A little different, strays from your typical logo designs but then again, look at the logo right now. So I figured I'd throw this out there.

This is obviously a rough idea- if anyone is good at logo making feel free to improve on it-

This one wins hands down. I love it.

Alright you had to go and steal my idea, but what's that old saying. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Anyways, I took the advice and moved around the track a little bit. I think a animated logo on the site as is, would seem a little gaudy seeing as that'd be the equivalent of a 80 year old woman throwing on some lingerie. Maybe if you hop out of that old frame and get into something a little more appealing, it'd be appropriate but until then, I think a simple logo update would be a good idea to get the ball rolling.

I think this one wins it. It's a fantastic evolution of the current logo. Same color scheme and shape, just more mature. Bravo!
it looks too predictable and mainstream unless that is what wejo is looking for.
letsrun.com is grassroots, word-of-mouth driven website.
it doesn't need to look cool to be cool.
I put my Microsoft Publisher skills to use. It's not perfect, but you get the general idea...
tx, that is funny!
I'll toss my hat in the ring. Made this:

I think the logo should be "modern" and not look like it was made by some HS punk. The one I made preserves the color scheme of the old logo and would blend in great with the site's existing white background.
Just an idea.
Stick to trolling the message boards tx.
How's your Web site doing these days?

But I have an idea for the logo. Maybe it would look like total suck but we have to see it before we decide.
Start out with the yellow oval with the lane lines like the updated ones people have been putting up. Then, instead of lane numbers on the track, use the letters from Letsrun. I guess it would have to be a seven lane track. Or we could spell it correctly with the apostrophe and then it could be an 8 lane track. But spelling correctly would not be in the spirit of the website...
Can someone draw this up and post it? Then we can see if it looks good or if it looks like an old ass.

Kinda like the direction you're going there. The font isn't quite right (to me at least, needs to be less blocky) and if I'm correct the O is supposed to be a track... might want to make it a bit more obvious if you can.
This was inspired by the guy who suggested putting the letters in the lanes and by the one guy who's making a bunch that look like frisbees :D
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y25/eek5surf/Random%20shit/letsrun2.jpgI don't run on a track. I run roads and trails. My guess is most of us could say the same. The track/frisbee motif is too confining.
Let's Run ... back to the drawing board.
Man, we are not a talented, artistic bunch... other than the original artist. Let's just pull the plug now. Deal?
This won wins hands down.
This one wins.
i think this is a case where everyone loses...

I hate to break it to you, but there's no way a logo with those dimensions will ever work
