Good find.

A 2:05.68 800m as a sophomore is outstanding and combined with sub 12 100m as a freshman seems pretty rare. She'll be someone to watch. I'll have to find this thread again next year. I wonder if she's getting a lot of interest from colleges or if people don't even know about her because she's in North Dakota.
That is BRUTAL. Her parents must be proud as hell.

She's the number two high school 800 meter runner in the country, she's won the 100, 200, 400, 800 in her state meet for the second year in a row, and she's already entered in the Olympic Trials in the 800 - I doubt people "don't know about her".
Is it just me or is this way more impressive than the girl in texas who won the state title by herself? what a great story.

She has actually won the 100, 200, 400, and 800 for the third year in a row. She also won the 400 as a 7th grader, along with 5th in the 800. So far she has won 13 individual state titles in track.
Here she is finishing the 400.

That's pretty crazy. What were those times?
7th: Final: 57.88 (1st), 2:20.97 (5th). Prelim: 58.84.
8th: Final: 12.40, 25.07, 57.67, 2:20.53 (all 1st). Prelim: 12.16, 25.05, 58.93. No wind indicated.
9th: Final: 12.90, 25.75, 55.56, 2:17.11 (all 1st). Prelim 12.21, 25.49, 58.19. No wind indicated.
10th: Final: 12.07w, 24.30w, 55.76, 2:10.78 (all 1st). Prelim: 11.90w, 24.75w, 55.70.
She could win out from here until the end of her HS career and she still won't even be the best ever in the Dakotas.
Jaime Pauli has 19 state titles in XC and track and she didn't run XC 3 years that she would have won as well. She had all 4 champ course XC records. Unbeatable. Trained very little and didn't particularly care for running that much-a damn shame. Carrie Tollefson was 40 miles away and very near the same age and she had more talent than Carrie and last time I checked Carrie ran in the Olympic Games.
If she wins from here on out she will have 10 more titles added to her already total of 13 in track and 2 in XC (9th and 10th - anybody know about her in XC in 7th and 8th?). She will have a total of 25 state titles. 4 in XC and 21 in track (4 in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, and 1 in 7th). Read the whole thread before you read her state title winning times. This girl is impressive no matter how you dice it. State champion from 100 to XC, and her times aren't too shabby - #2 800 nationally as a sophomore? IF (and that is a big if) she continues progressing could we possibly see a national record 800 or if she chooses to jump to the 1600, we could see some impressive miles out of her.
Regardless of times, she is just an impressive racer/competitor. Think about, if she ran XC in 7th and 8th grade (and assuming she lost those since there hasn't been much talk of it) then she has lost a total of 3 state finals races. This makes her 15 out of 18 with at least 14 straight wins. I would call that a dynasty...
Awesome. She's running alone...
She is way ahead of Becca Noble. Although it will be interesting to see whether she can keep improving.
Dakota Elite Challenge from Friday 30 May 2008:
In the girl’s division, Laura Roesler, a sophomore from Fargo South High School ran 2:04.96 in the 800, landing her second among U.S. High School Girls in the 800 meters.
Roesler’s time improved upon her previous U.S. Olympic Trials “B” Standard mark.
Jaime Pauli was 19 out of 20 in state and cross country finals in South Dakota.
baller
A high school sophomore against college girls! That North Dakota college girl ran pretty fast too.

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
