Yeah, this guy is totally right. You sound like a controlling know it all that always wants his way and doesnt respect his wife's choices. I imagine you are well meaning and actually have good ideas, but you don't know when to step back and accept her.

It may not have been the best thing to do, but you have to admit, it is pretty funny.

When she was yelling at me on the phone, she did admit that one person came up to her after class and said she thought the music was "pretty cool" and no one complained.

So her point is probably valid that I should not have done it, but can you imagine being in the class and "Ring of Fire" comes on the speakers?

First of all, it's her class, not yours, and secondly, regarding choosing Johnny Cash, it's a spin class, not hell.

Now let's wait a minute and think about this. It's only a crappy YMCA spin class. How mad should she get? It's actually a pretty good prank. The bigger problem here is that the wife is too overly sensitive. She should care more about laughing about a pretty good joke rather than get bent out of shape because her coveted spin class had to pedal to "Burning Ring of Fire" (which by the way is very applicable given an hour in the saddle).

Here is a husband that clearly has some talent in an area where his wife feels a little insecure about. She wants to develop her own style and in the process is ignoring a vital resource in her husband. She deserves everything she gets. I think that the husband ought to cut her off for a while.

What is wrong with you people, this is funny. If he were to do something like this to a guy roomate it is funny, but to your wife itis f'd up. Now, messing with someones work is messed up there could have been better pranks with better timing.

I think we should help him with his next wife prank (this has the making of a good TV show):

1. Leave a stink bomb in her car...funny.

2. Follow her to work, and when she takes a shower steal her clothes. This is a classic one!

3. Crank call her pretending to be her ex-boyfriend.

You may ruin you marriage because women just don't have a sense of humor but it will be funny! So try these and report back!

However if it is her job, then how would you feel if your spouse thought that they knew beter and went into your work stuff and rewrote a presentation that you were delivering to a client. Give her some credit for caring about how she does her job.

Yes there is a chance he could ruin his marriage by desensitizing his wife but we face those kind of issues everyday. For instance, we could get injured when we up our miles. The point is, sometimes we have to add stress to our lives to gain improvement. I mean, how fun would it be married to such a fuddy dud?

As a general rule women do have an underdeveloped sense of humor but that's not to say that they are a lost cause. They were taught that a healthy ability to laugh at themselves is a sign of weakness by their overbearing mothers, fathers, girlfriends etc. I say go forth young man and get your wife to loosen up and in the end if it doesn't work then you will be better off 25 years down the road. The intervening period will be a living hell but that will be your problem not ours...

You're right about caring about her desire to do a good job but I'm operating on the premise that it is just a crappy YMCA spin class. I've done my share of spinning and had friends lead the class. They get paid a couple bucks an hour or get free membership to the gym.

Now if my wife messed up my presentation to my clients and that was the difference between me and $5 million worth of billings I'd be pissed, but as long as we didn't end up in the poor house I could probably get over it. I'd probably even give her some kudos for devising such plan. She started out with an appalling lack of humor and has slowly come out of her shell and is quite a lot of fun to be around now. Anyway, the fact that the wife can't see the difference is troubling.
