Holy moley fellas, I need a hug. I just watched that Cardinal 10K, and it was like a slug in the gut. Everything we've been saying Rupp couldn't do, he has totally rocked in the last couple weeks.
I mean we're talking mud in the shorts, water in the eyes and that uncomfortable tight throat feeling for us guys.
We need to stick together, because it's dangerous out there for us right now. We don't really have a foundation at this point, kid of like sitting on a rocking buoy in a bad storm, jussa hopin' some boat will come by.
Man, we're outta ammo right now. I mean we've been wailin on about how he hasn't improved since high school (cleverly forgetting to admit that his high school level was NCAA championship finals material) and now he goes and does what those durned Rupp lovers have been claimin all along........that he is at the big level. Yeah sure he stomped Pac-10 cross and Regionals last year, and sure he ran some negative split 28:15 10K as an 18 year old and then got 2nd at NCAA's after leading a great deal of the race, but we were able to ignore that stuff.
I've got a bad feeling this time though guys, I don't think our old Ostrich trick is going to work.
Wwwwwait a second, we still have our old standbye. Rupp has unfair advantages! He has unfair advantages, so that should......well yeah, that should reverse his performances. Add some time to his 27:33 and put him behind Solinsky in those 5K results because he trains too hard with too much preparation and amenities. No other American whatsoever has access to those things, so diminish his times.
Let's just call him professionl, a 20 year old professional with every advantage and no disadvantage (and lets forget about age when we say that.)
Ok fellas, group hug. Arms around eachother and here we go...!!!
