I saw him listed on the ncaa descending order list at:
3:42.36
Anyone know where the race was?

Was that the one where McDougal went 3:57? I seem to remember that but I may be completely wrong.
why would there be a mile and a 1500 in the same meet?
anyway bairs time is from april 21
Anyone at the meet?
1 Bair, Sam Pittsburgh 3:42.36
2 Blend, David Edinboro 4:03.41
3 Arthur, Josh Edinboro 4:03.72
Did he at least have a rabbit? Some meet no one has ever heard of,he wins by 21 seconds and PRs? Seems a little fishy. Particulary when he run 343 all the time.
Details, details.
ran solo. that's all i was told. don't have any splits.
A 3:43 runner, who may run a lot faster this year, PRs by a second (or less) is fishy? Are you suggesting the FAT was off?
I thought maybe Flemming had paced him since Flemming is capable of pacing him for part of that and he DNF'd.
Time was legit, i was there he had a rabbit take him through 1000. He went through 58, 1:59, 2:58 and closed very strong, the rabbit actually had a few meter lead on him. Sam looked in control the whole way.
hey man. the meet was actually at my school,IUP. He beat the second guy by 21 seconds. I saw the whole thing and it was an awesome sight. I had never seen anyone run that fast and I think the rabbit lead him for 2 laps. My coach told me he needed to get the regional mark so he came to our invitational since it is only about an hour from Pitt.

how many father/son combos, have broken 4 minutes in the mile?
Did Archie San Romani and Jr do it? Not sure. Anybody know if it's been done?
Rudy Chapa and his son Joaquim?
Malmo would know.
If Sam breaks 4 minutes for a full mile that will be the first father/son duo in American history to do it. There is a guy at Texas who is also close, but with his PB of 4:03 he has a little more work than Bair does
Bair's time conversion would just squeak him under 4:00 for the mile, too bad there are probably not any good mile opportunities the rest of the regular season.

Kip and Martin Keino are the only two to do it so far.
There have been a few brothers that have done it and from memory, I think the Graffin bro Allen (3:59) and Andrew (3:54) were the first set of twins to do so (I know the Jefferson's have done so). No brother and sister have yet to come close!
I think Bair will run the Kip Keino mile on May 13 in an attempt to break 4 minutes. He and his dad would be the first american father/son sub 4 milers.
