Can get a nice web stream of the race here http://www.eurosport.co.uk/marathon/mcplayervideo_vid38070.shtml

I'm in UK so not sure if it works for the USA guys but anyone else is good to go.

It is a footrace. Are people supposed to sit behind a pack jogging at 10:40? Even a reasonably fit character could go out in 10:10 and be way ahead. Should they be banned for not being gentlemen and running behind the "favorites". Poppycock.

While I am thankful that the race is on national TV, the last fifteen minutes have been horrible. They showed a lady running in space, the Iraq marathon, the second wave of runners and small portions of the womens race.

Ok, I'm in charge here.

Yet again, thanks to Tivo and the running clcok on the top of the broadcast, I apparently know more than the people actually in Boston.

The women hit 10k in 34:51.
15k according to the tv split was rouhgly 53:36, meaning they jogged the last 5k in 18:45.
Very tactical.

Carol Lewis did say something about a six minute mile.

The leaders are very experienced marathoners, so the pack should take notice in these conditions.

Maybe the springs will rust in the rain...

That is not why they are talking about being banned. How many brain cells does it take to understand this?

The shoes they are using have been banned by boston, they do not allow athletes to compete in these shoes, they have publicly stated that people wearing spira will be DQ'ed. So they would be banned for wearing shoes they were told not to wear. Simple.

OK this is classic.

The american announcers are now praising the top 2 because they have run a 48 minute 10 mile. My god, I mean that's not amazing. I mean wouldn't the fact that they have numbers 42 and 54 tell you in the first 5 seconds of the race that they are 'fairly legitimate.'

SO SO SO FUNNY.
Hey loser

it's just a stunt, they can't possibly hold that pace and they know it, in the process they're ruining coverage of their own sport.

Deena is running so smart. She is using the pack to her needs. Those two guys leading are going to hit the wall soon...their form is getting worse and they are looking over their shoulders.
