Looks like it was a solid race up front and congrats to McDougal for busting a fast time!
Good to see him getting back on track, hopefully it continues.
yes! awesome to hear. hard worker like him deserves this.
what happened to christo landry in this race? he ran a provisional qualifier early on but hasn't done much since then. shouldn't he have been out there with McDougal trying to get the auto?
also, Dan Nunn from georgetown should be coming in a little faster, wasn't he runner-up last year around 14-flat?
great run by josh, i hope he mixes things up with the big boys where he belongs next weekend.

He is watching Oscar for the weekend.
Back on track?? This is a PR--indoor or out--by almost 15 seconds!

Yes but his XC results and his training suggest that he should run a lot faster. He also had a bad 5000 a few weeks ago in Washington, this is getting back on track. (Good catch on the pun)

You are comparing apples and oranges. Landry is no McDougal, nor does he have the coaching Josh has. The entire W&M program is way over rated in people's mind. IMO, Landry is not tough enough to race at the same level as Josh.

This is laughable.

I think you meant to say Landry is too injury prone to race at the same level as Josh and I think you meant under rated not over rated.
I agree: his X-C suggested much better. But suggestion is one thing and actual accomplishment another. Also, that "bad 5,000" was his PR!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps more impressive is younger brother Jordan's performance after rigging in the 3k on Sat.
You're stupid. The man ran 13:37.
off topic, but i noticed someone was there taking a lot of photos. anyone know what website they will be on?

Most commonly used pun on a track board. Are you that stupid?
"Landry is no McDougal, nor does he have the coaching Josh has. The entire W&M program is way over rated in people's mind."
This previous post has to be one of the dumbest statements I have ever read. Note: (I am not here to Liberty bash they have done great things with their program). First, I will agree that Landry is not McDougal. Second, I pass the McDougals almost daily on the trails I run on and they train alone without their coaches. They do distance runs alone, workouts alone almost everything alone. They rarely train with their teammates. The level of improvement by Liberty's athletes from high school to college is not that great. Third, I have coached two athletes who currently run at W&M and their coaching is first class. OVER RATED they were 8th at NATIONALS!!!! Tell me when Liberty has ever been to nationals in cross country. They have had 2 great runners in their history, McDougal and Heather Sagan. W&M takes a team to nationals almost yearly and many of those runners were lightly recruited.
As someone who sees Liberty's program (and it is a good one) almost daily and hears from W&M's programs a couple times a week they frankly just aren't compareable.
This is a very good time run solo. It might hurt Wisco, as it puts one more tough racer into the 5000. Since Solinsky is trying to double, the level of effort necessary to best McDougal might really hurt that plan. For instance, if Josh goes hard from the gun do you let him go, or follow and burn some bridges for the attempt to 3-peat at the 3000? I think Solinsky would prefer to have a modest pace for the first half of the race and then accelerate in the last mile. I believe that the 5000 is first.
...I heard you broke your foot. True? Bummer.
