Ok I found out that I have a navicular stress fracture.
I know my podiatrist would think I'm an idiot for getting medical advice on here. But I figure it doesn't hurt.

My stress fracture is not that bad, 1 on a 3 point scale.
The problem is it is possible I have had it for maybe 15 months. That same foot has bothered me for that long. The pain seemed to go away a couple of times and I thought it was tendonitis or something as I've had a ton of problems with that foot. Perhaps I should have read on here earlier as I saw someone with nearly similar symptoms (pain in the navicular region when I first walked in the morning or after I had been sitting for a while but it seemed to go away after I moved around a bit, I realize now I just was changing how I walked) and I think they had a stress fracture.
Anyway, it's good to know what is wrong with me and I'm not some hypochondriac.
So my doctor told me I have 2 options, a boot for at least 2 months with a bone stimulator or surgery (the surgery involves putting a screw in there, scraping some bone off my heel and putting it in there).
To me it seems like a no brainer- boot with a bone stimulator. The problem is he thinks that may not heal it. There is little blood flow in that area and I've had mine for a long time so my body may not want to heal that area on its own. So I was wondernig if anyone on here had one for such a long period of time and didn't know it and went the bone stimulator route with success.
Personally I'm reluctant to have surgery. If i had been competing recently and had to get back I might rush to have surgery but at this point I don't see why I shouldn't at least try the boot first.
And if anyone knows where to get a bone stimulator cheap, let me know. I don't see the point going through my insurance if I'm going to have to pay out of pocket (i have a high deductible HSA)
