if you live in an area that gets cold in the winter you can run on the golf courses all winter. It is great. Soft surfaces, rolling hills, and nobody is out there most of the time... and if they are out there it is just some lone dude is who wont care and isnt gonna chase sh!t.
Now the nice weather is another story. A very basic, public course is nice because the people there arent members and its the town's land and as long as you dont mess up the golfer's game they dont care if you are there most of the time.
Another preferable situation is the ridiculously elite course like the one with Rolls Royces in the parking lot and all old white people. There is one like that in my hometown and the people there know where the runners go (we do the same route everytime) and we are respectfull and they wave at us and say Hi all the time. Those people have it too good to care about seeing a runner for 1 minute of their 4 hour golf game.
TROUBLE: The course that wants to be big time but its not and the members want to be rich and elite but they arent. These idiot clubs will chase your a$$. They think that the real elite clubs would do the same thing so they are gonna do it too! Little do they know the the real rich people dont give a shit. This course, though, may be the most rewardig to run on because it is exciting and you really seem to mess up the idiot's day by running by them... but over time it becomes a drag and you just want to run in peace.
Moral of my longest letsrun post ever: run on the public course or the Rolls Royce course.
