I am glad to see the Equity in Athletics has gotten involved. As track athletes we cannot just sit around and let Men’s Track and Field be destroyed!
Best of luck to the Ohio University athletes and teams!

I go to a small d3 school in columbus. and this weekend is the last home meet for men's track down at OU. I am going to watch simply out of principal.
The Ohio Track and Field Open will be held Saturday, May 5th.
This is the last home meet of the season for OU.
Will it be the last home meet for the OU Men’s Track and Field team???
Does anyone have more info on this meet?
Will there be a number of former OU T&F athletes on hand?

No. Athens sucks.
ouch. I have been to Athens and OU before it seems like a nice town and campus..
does anyone know the time schedule for Saturday...I couldn't find it on their web site....
From story: " more than $85,000 was spent on "inspirational graphics" in football meeting areas"
That reeks of corruption, plain and simple.

Sad day for Ohio Univerity.
How many people will show up for the last meet?
From The USA Today-
EIA is the organization suing the U.S. Department of Education, James Madison U., and Ohio University over illegal enforcement of the proportionality rule, established in 1996, that does not have legal merit.
Article -
So, let me get this straight.
The EIA is saying that a alumni/foundation supported men's track team would exist if the the Title IX proportionality guideline was eliminated - which is everything that Title IX stands for in addition to equality of facilities and schedule.
And once you start handing over non-revenue sports to foundation funding - and therefore, the school provides facilities and coaching salaries and nothing more, aren't you setting yourself up for an existence of never ending fundraising and eventually no where to go if it slows or ceases? Once you do it, I don't see any turning back point.
Athletic directors all across American must be high-fiving at the prospect of all non-revenue sports going to private funding - all funds can be directed to men's football, basketball.
Gee, why doesn't the EIA just push for pay to play.
