I don't really ever call for a person to be banned from this site, but it looks to me that ONE PERSON, who changes his name repeatedly is responsible for almost every post on the last three pages.
WEJO should do an IP check and ban that person.
There is nothing wrong with defending this marathon, but having to read the same person's repetitive posts, with the same stilted writing style and poor grammar is too much.
It is so obvious that the same person is posting, it was kind of funny at 1st, but after a while it becomes annoying. I would avoid this marathon just because of the poster.
The fact that someone needs to do this to defend the marathon makes me wonder about it. It makes the whole thing seem shady.
I also wonder if the race prep is going as well as the poster keeps telling us, why he/she keeps posting here? It make me wonder if there are problems.
It is also interesting that so much about what the multiple name poster tells us is about the NON-Running parts of the race, things virtually no real runner would care about.
No real runner will care about the "whose who" of military people coming to the race. A nameless "whose who" so far. I get the impression the people putting this race on may be spending too much time on the non-running parts of the event and not enough time on the running part.
I really think I would pass on this "event" in favor of a "race" somewhere else. There are plenty of marathons in October.
I assume the person who keeps posting under different names is somehow associated with the new marathon. I can't figure out anyother reason why someone would be that defensive about this. No runner who has never run the race and has no ties to it would be so emotionally attached to it. It has to be someone with the new race.
I also notice that NONE of the poster's names are the names of regular letsrun posters. Not one.
To be honest, I would actually respect the RD (To the mutli name poster, who I am guessing is not a runner, that means Race Director) if he came here and answered questions. That stategery probably would have won a few people over.
