Travis Kuhl won a Gold Medal at the Triathlon World Championships a few years back and he had a nice 5 year run as a professional Triahtlete and Duathlete, winning many honors and traveling the world.

Yeah, not sure how Beardsley was overlooked. In 1985, he was the 10th fastest steepler in the U.S. with some pretty good company:

Interestingly, in going back to find these results, I had forgotten just how dominant Henry Marsh was in the steeple in the U.S. He ranked #1 or #2 every year from 1976 - 1988. Wow.
