I'm convinced Maddie Outman could win whatever she wanted to individually, except maybe HJ. That 800 was at the the end of a heptathlon. Crazy talent there. |

I agree that Outman could win the 100 -800, both hurdles, LJ and heptathlon but the rumor is that she is "only" going to do the 100 HH, 800, and LJ at PSAC's skipping the heptathlon. |

great showing of class by neyhart taunting and showboating down the final straight of the 1500, only one out of all the distance winners who felt the need to be a jackass about their victory |

I am going to comment on the double standard here. A thrower launches a great throw and its acceptable for him to scream and yell in the circle getting pumped up and pumping up the crowd and his teammates. Sprinters in the 4x1 hand off the baton and chase their team mates screaming at them, celebrating clapping and jumping down the straightaway behind them. Ever watch a jumper hit a perfect triple? The kid isn't even out of the pit and the fist pumping and screaming starts. A distance runner pumps his fist and pulls on his jersey on his way to a title in his last season and you want to get on him about being a showboat. Get off the kids back for showing some emotion and a bit of arrogance as he pulled away from the best runner in the conference (Hilton) for the win. If that is really all you found important enough to comment on this weekend then you missed some great racing and incredible performances in almost every event. |

Neyhart's celebration may have been a bit excessive, but there's a reason for that.. it was a defining moment for him. Both him and Hilton were in the same district/county in high school, and ever since Hilton was a sophomore, he had been beating Neyhart. College came around, and it was more of the same thing. It was just 5 or 6 years of shooting for something and finally hitting his goal, along with a lot of pride for his team, coming out in that moment. And in his defense, I did hear him apologizing/explaining his celebration to Hilton after the race. |

I'll tell ya what, Josh Neyhart may excessively celebrate but he has the firmest handshake in the PSAC. If you've ever expereinced it, you'll agree |

I do not have a problem with the celebration as Josh was excited. On another note I heard there were about half a dozen records set which means the conference is getting better. Who is going to nationals? |

not sure how many are taken in each event, but on the mens side in the 1500 neyhart has the 16th best time right now, smith has the 13th and jewel the 21st in the 800, LHU has the 15th 4x4 time, hilton has the 13th in the 10k, and the 15th time with an auto qualifier in the steeple, edelman and graham have autos for 6th and 7th in the 400 |

Is the body build of Maddy Outman normal? Is she some kind of super human female? Why is she allowed to continue competing for her 6th year as it appears from her past in D3 with Williams College of Mass. Is the coach of IUP the same coach white from that university she came from? Just wondering... If she is the real deal, she is amazing! |

I do find it funny how certain people get all fired up by a little celebrating from a distance runner like it's some crime. Why the double standard? Why can athletes in all other sports celebrate but somehow runners are held to some higher elitist standard? Last meet of a college career with his team is a reason to celebrate. Neyhart's been nothing but a fair competitor and his antics at the psac meet although showboaty are not outrageous. He deserves his day like any other. Good Luck to our comrades of the PSAC in Charlotte, NC. |

The men's steeple was probably my favorite race of the weekend,it was probably one of the only distance races that called for a fast time to place. The 10k overall was fairly slow, the 5k was definitely slow granted the weather was horrible, the 800 wasn't too outrageous, and the 1500 came down to a kick...Haven's distance usually is pretty strong but I thought they looked a little off this weekend, Edinboro as usual didn't show up nearly as strong as they do in cross, and Ship looked stronger than ever. This cross season should be a good one |

the one thing that makes a champion great is the class they show when they win...as somebody posted earlier nobody else in the PSAC had to pump up the crowd and show off their jersey...Shizzy usually wears his emotion on his sleeve if he wins or loses, but he went over board on saturday. I was glad to see him finally put it all together and win a PSAC championship but show some class and act like you have been there before. For you that say its alright he does that (mostly ship supporters) look at the Cornell kid was DQ'd for excessive celebration after the winning the 1500m. |

Really?? No one else celebrated. The ESU team didn't run out on the track to congratulate Negus after his 400 win? They also didn't run out onto the track after a ballsy performance from the 110m hurdler to get 2nd on one leg. Must have missed Rector pumping his fist in the air before he crossed the line in the 800 (in 3rd, presumably celebrating for his teammate). Please, there was celebration during and after races all over the place this weekend and there always is. If you have a personal beef with Neyhart take it off the forum. If you are going to call out celebration call out everyone. This comes from a supporter of great competition; I was glad to see the emotion from ESU, glad to see the emotion from Neyhart, and thrilled to see one hell of a track meet. |
