For perhaps the first time in my life, I agree with DIRT...would've been a helluva race to watch. Sauls' stride was the smoothest ever...Strauman ain't afraid to go for it. Would've been fast...both would've been together with 200M to go.

Sauls, would love to see you back in shape...always felt you had a stellar 1500 in you...

I try to keep myself off the boards since this thread should be about the PSAC, but it was really cool to read a response like that. It's been a long time since I've been able to race, but the fire is still there...and guys like Strauman are great motivation to keep working at it.

I just want to say thanks to all the steeple chase guys for forming a circle around me so I could fix my shorts. haha! I can't believe I had them on backwards 30 seconds before the steeple started. I have no idea how that happened.

This was by far the most exciting PSAC championship that I have been a part of. I hope everyone had an awesome time.

In my opinion, some of the notable performances of the meet distance-wise were:

-Weiss pulling off the 5K,10K double obviously,

-Chad Phares making an appearance!

-TP coming up big scoring in both the 5K and 10K!!!

-PR Pat Reagan had a huge meet, considering his 5K PR was 15:22 just a mere 4 months ago.

-Jorge pulled out some nice performances. Oh and not to forget we had about 15 fans chant the ESPN "Hip Hip JORGE!" chant during the 10K which was awesome!

-"Freshman" Phil Rector ran awesome as a true freshman for the rock. We say he won the "human" race which excludes Strauman.

-Lobianco went swimming on the last waterpit but held off Bobby Boston for 4th. Looked like it hurt from where I was.

-Pintobean had an awesome 1500, did exactly what he said he would.

-Buckenmeyer won the award for most supportive PSAC fan, closely beating out Justin Gavazzi.

-Mark Morelli actually showed up and ran awesome!

-Nick Luden returned my phone calls (I had only called him about 37 times during 2007)

-Spidell is a beast in the mid-distance events

-Bluman is always a smart racer, getting two 6th place finishes.

-Strauman dipped under 1:50 for the first time!

-Robson looks like a solid contender for that 3rd spot at Nationals.

-Hansloven hurdled the stadium fence which is really tall.

-Nate Shelly looks like he could be a top 15 guy in the Region next year for sure.

-Lock haven won the title without Blood.

It's been an honor running in the PSAC. Jorge, Gavazzi, Buckenmeyer and myself made a promise that we would skip wedding anniversaries, births of children, etc., to attend the PSAC championships forever. Probably won't happen but we'll try.

Good luck at Nationals everyone.

I'm proud of you bigbear for making it to PSACs! I'm sure I'll be down at 411 one last time.

that's an awesome post! All the distance races were very fast

29:52
14:20
3:50

the 800 final wasn't all that fast, but Strauman ran 1:49 in the prelims which is very fast.

411 always welcomes guests from other schools (especially the Rock),and next year since PSACs are at IUP everyone is welcome to stop by at anytime during the weekend.

And a final farewell to all of the seniors leaving us after this season especially those who facilitated the multi-school gatherings, Jorge and Jake, hopefully we can keep that up.

IUP Alum AJ Kelly ran a huge PR this past weekend at Philly's Broad Street 10 Miler to finish 12th. Kelly continues to improve every time out. Also, Matt Wagoner (Ship alum)was very impressive with his 18th place finish, which also has to be a huge PR. Both broke 51 minutes.

However, it was Thomas Rhodes (who I believe ran for Dickinson, if I remember correctly) that had the biggest breakthrough in finishing 3rd.

Great coaching there mr. rohl

CC? mansfield will be lucky if they break into the top 5. Even on the men's side with redshirt a bunch of no talent ass clowns and bringing back an old runner. Bunch of hype for nothing once again on mansfields part for xc, i'm callin it...

Maybe if you few people at Manhole would stop talking about what you can do, try training and actually becoming a decent team first

Ouch...someone have a grudge?

That last post was a bit cruel. Mansfield has some good talent. Maybe not top 5 team material, but decent mid distance with cummings and sanford. I think they'll be ok next year though for what they have

I agree, Mansfield isn't a joke. But I would not call Cummings a "decent" mid-distance runner, the kid is fast.

Dear the Pee coalition, when is that party gonna be?

Last i new The Morseman Brothers were among the top in the PSAC Even running unattached, as well as cummings. So I have no clue what the hell you are taking about MU has no Talent! obvisously you must be from West chester or Cal where you think 5 guy's running 30 minutes is good for a 8k, You god damn Losers.

Easy all...let's just simmer down here, eh?

The fact of the matter is Mansfield is a program that seems to be going in the right direction. Rohl has done a good job developing the talent that he's had...and he's perhaps done an even better job of getting funding for the program. So, as far as I can tell, it's a program on the up-and-up. I'll ask you this -- would any of you want to be duking it out with Cummings on a 10-mile run down along the canal/tow path at the PA Grand Canyon. With the exception of a few in the PSAC...he'd rock your world.

Interestingly, Morons chose to single out Cal to make fun of...another program on the up-and-up. I realize that it's too early to say much about Cal, given that it's pretty much all about Clark at this point. But, let's face it -- Caufield knows what the hell he is doing. Two years ago, none of us on this board would've predicted Clark to be running in the 29's. Also, say what you will about Roger Kindgom (some love him / some hate him)...the dude is an Olympic Gold Medalist -- and if that doesn't give you some clout as a track coach, then nothing will. Point being, this program will get funding and will have a coach that can do something with that money.

It is interesting...Cal and Mansfield on the up and up. Th ROCK looking as good as I've seen them since the Laughlin/Paco/Slovinsky (sp?) days. One thing about the PSAC -- it definitely goes through up and down cycles and it seems we are on a big up cycle right now. And, when teams like Cal and Mansfield and the Rock are performing well (and hopefully IUP can follow suit) -- it doesn't seem to really detract that much from the mainstays -- Boro, Haven, & Ship. It seems like all teams benefit from the rising tide.

So, bash each other if you like...but, at least take a moment to step back and realize that you're part of a conference that is going to be a fun (albeit tough) place to run over the next few years.

P.S. Take note that the teams on the up-and-up are just that...teams. Look at how "tight knit" that Rock team is...or Mansfield for that matter. Any team with that the same vibrant atmosphere and sense of community will be competitive.

someone is getting a bit mad here...

i have been missing from the Letsrun action for a few days. I just woke up from a two-day sickness. In all honesty, I have to stand up for a good friend of mine, Coach Rohl. He has always encouraged me and supported me at races when he did not have to. I dont know why he gets a lot of crap on here that he does not deserve. I believe he is a great coach and he always cares about his athletes. I also believe Mansfield will have a pretty good team next year if they all come back healthy. Just wait and see. Some people might owe him an apology.

Jake Moore, that was the post of the year man. I can see you and I going to a PSAC meet in 50 years from now. And of course, Billy Buckenmeyer will be there reminding us that he was a steeple champion back in the day and he will ask us if we were ever PSAC champions just to rub it in. 411 will be waiting for you man.

Chadero, I will miss you man. I feel like it was just yesterday that I walked you home after that crazy xc party our freshman year.

It was a pleasure competing with everyone in the PSAC and I want you guys and girls to know I will miss you all. Good luck to everyone going to Nats and also good luck to everyone returning next year. Keep making the PSAC proud. Im going to go to bed before I start crying.

p.s. SRU-please take care of nicole blaesser for us next year.
