so we're about a month out from psac indoors. based on the performances so far this is what i got happening. dmr: should be a good battle between ship and lock, i'd say ship is deeper and at the conference meet they'll take the win. 4x8: The rock has 3 guys in at 1:56 or better, they'll be hard to beat. haven has a nice winning streak going and i doubt they want to give that up. don't count out ship or esu either, they look like they'll each have strong teams. 5k: does reagan still have what it takes? from what i hear he's not to focused on running anymore. with his talent though it's hard to count him out. it looks like it could be anyones to win with no real contender up front. 3k: again no clear favorite stands out, should be a good match up to see who comes back after the 5k and mile. mile: the top 7 as of now is all ship and lock. should be an interesting race. i'm putting my money on a sprint to the finish between hilton and buck with neyhart and pomerantz not to far behind. 800: rector seems to come in near the top year after year, yet hasn't won. should be another close one. look for the 3 rock guys near the front with garcia and maybe buck in the mix to shake things up. for the team looks like ship may run away with it, with lock close behind 800: |

I think even Shizzy at one point mentioned that Mansfield always seems to have a few guys in the mix. So, 'overlooked' isn't exactly a correct statement in my opinion. Also, I believe it was also Coach Rohl who mentioned that it will take them a few years (at best, in the best case scenario for them) to keep moving up in the team rankings. This, I feel, is an accurate statement. Look, we all know who the powerhouses are. We aren't idiots. Every now and then you can throw a school or two in there that was maybe 5th or so, but it usually stays the same. Maybe in another few years, things will change, but overlooked, eh, I don't think so. Popular? Without a doubt, they are not. |
