Oh.
5K splits, anyone?
1st race was right around 15:00 at 5km, wasn't close enought to catch the 5km time of the second, but it was significantly faster

Just for comparison, I went to the Clackamas community college 4 mile race that Oregon attended. Looked like about 13 Duck runners. Rupp won in about 18.35 (looked pretty fast), Kiptoo was about 9-10 seconds back, followed closely by (I think) Mercado, then another (unidentified duck), the Klotz.
Strong showing against absolutely ZERO competition.
Salazar was lurking, and AJ dropped out intentionally.
I wonder if anyone missed them at Pre-Nats?
You sure AJ dropped out? I heard his name in the results.
AJ finished.

Yeah, you are absolutely the FIRST person on these boards to say that the Buffs will be on the podium at NCAA's this year...congratulations!!
Lol!!!!!
I was there today and think i remember the 5K split for the second race being around 14:35.
By the way, it was very, very windy out there. Except along the backside of the course where they were protected by the tree line, the runners had to battle the it the whole way. The three flags that were there were completely horizontal. The absolute temp wasn't that low, the wind chill sure made it rougher.
Great second race by the men. A pack of 5 broke away early and gapped the rest by a large margin. They were flying. Between 4-5k they were down to 4. It was somewhere shortly before 7k, i think, that McDougal surged and got 10 meters on the next runner, a margin that he didn't increase by much. He really pushed this one; when he crossed the line he had some serious wobble goin' on. Looked totally spent. Very impressive.
It seemed that Fagan & Cheseret closed a alot faster, but they also ran more conservatively until the last 2-3 klicks. Fagan was flying down the homestretch, so maybe he had a little in reserve.
It's gonna be a great race in Nov. with the addition of the other top teams. Have no idea where Rohatinsky was today.
The biggest surprise for me was Bobby Curtis. He ran very tough today and closed fast. Hope this bodes well for the rest of his year.
