Anyone got Mottram's split between 250m and 50m to go?
Don't know...but last 200 was 26,9.
seems ironic that mottram could pull this out after racing since march. you would think it should have been the other way around with mottram tired and kb smoking him. looks like mottram was the only one who ran a good race, everyone else seems to have had a subpar day.
You think that one time Sullivan can make a go of it and run to his ability to win? He's a lot more fit than 7:47.99. Ritz was running faster than that. He's not 14 seconds worse than Teg in a 3K but refuses to run to his ability. 7:32, 7:36 aren't walks in the park. But WTF's he laying back with a 7:48 group in the world cup? He's run 3:32 this season and is a strength miler. If he's going to run with the pack every race without an eye for the win no matter his fitness then get someone else in there.
I'm not taking away from Mottram's performance, it's great, but Kenenisa has raced way more than Mottram over the past couple of months (if Mottram has raced at all). Mottram may have done a lot in the spring, but not lately.
It's reported that Bekele was sick...but why run the first k in 2.30 then, if you sick you want a slow race not be a pacemaker.
I think Bekele pretty much ended his season last week, but Mottram could probably run 7.27-7.28 today if it wasn't for the drop in pace midways, not even Bekele could toy with that.
I think Sully did it right...better to run for the money than take the chance and get nothin. Jesus Espana tried but he couldn't follow Bekele.
Mottram is just freakin incredible, too bad that some minor injury problems handicapped him this summer.
Does anyone have the video yet?
what money?
This is an amazing result. I don't want to take anything away from Mottram's performance, but why was there only one African? Is that how the World Cup works? I just can't believe he beat everyone other than Bekele by 15 seconds. If it was tactical, how do you make up that much on people, and if it wasn't tactical, why couldn't anyone else run under 7:47?

That's how the World Cup works: one representative per "continent." It's a dumb idea; no one knows how its lasted this long.
No one else ran under 7:47 because it's September 17; most people peaked a month (or more) ago.
THE MULLET KICKS ASS!!!!! AHHAHAHA. LOVE IT. (i'll stop shouting now). EMBRACE THE MULLET!
check the photo finish. clearly the mullet works to his benefit- applying weight down the lunbar region of the spine there by pushing the pelvis beneath the center of gravity contributing to a more fluid knee drive- without any extra effort i may add.

did chernobyl host this race? everyone seems to be mutating and morphing nicely.

Unless I'm not seeing it correctly, that's the thoracic region at best.
