I strongly agree.

Definately. I mean seriously. cant these guys just admit they were wrong? Its bad enough they were embarrassed and made to look like fools when the 'B' sample came out, there only making it worse by not admiting they effed it up.
Brojo's the front page is an embarrassment.
Yah, I bashed her too, and now I have to say I WAS WRONG.
Can you do that too, please?
People have been questioning Marion's reputation for a while. She was married to CJ Hunter, has a child with Tim Montgomery, and was coached by Trevor Graham.
Not to mention Victor Conte saying on national television she used drugs and if you believe the SF Chronicle CJ Hunter testifying under oath she used drugs.
These set of facts would cause many to quetion Marion's reputation or at least her choice in men. Wejo is stating the obvious.
LEGALLY, we are wrong if we say she is a druggie. You would think the letsrun front page would at least reflect this?

You forgot to mention that 10 years ago she attended a communist party meeting.
Anything who knows ANYTHING about that flaky EPO test would have withheld judgement on Jones. Those who indulged in attacking her before the B sample results were in were simply fools.
A lot of people here have a lot to learn about healthy skepticism and weighing evidence.
In reality, though, it's unlikely that many will see the lesson in this, because it just feels so damn good to fire off glib insults and pile on, doesn't it.
A LOT of people owe Jones a public apology, starting with the idiot who just yesterday was quoted as calling Jones a "thief" on the front page of this site.
And, yes, she certainly should sue the USADA for damage to her reputation and the income she lost by being banned from meets in Europe.
Maybe she could even sue the Washington Post for libel. It was a Post reporter (Amy whats-her-name, I think) that broke the A-sample story, quoting only anonymous sources. Jones is a public figure, so the standard for libel is high for her, but the Post had to know that anouncing the A-sample results was a violation of the antidoping protocol. They also had to know that there had previously been serious problems with the EPO test (e.g., the Lagat case). So maybe Jones' lawyer could make the case that the Post purposely maligned Jones, which is what I think he would need to prove. I'd like to see that happen. It would probably put an end to this kind of malicious leaking.

You bring the stake and gasoline. Wejo will bring the matches.
The Post reporter was Amy Shipley (link below).
I'm pretty sure she broke the A-sample story. Note the total absence of named sources. The only attribution is "sources with knowledge of the test results."
Shipley has done this more than once. Her attribution in the Aug. 25 story on Latasha Jenkins' allegedly positive test for nandrolone was ". . . according to sources who are familiar with the test results." As in the Jones case, Jenkins testing isn't complete until the results of a second test are obtained.
So Shipley has a habit of reporting these results prematurely, and it seems she's got a reliable leaker or two in the USADA or USATF. I think these organizations need to do some detective work. And maybe a libel suit or two against the Post is in order.
Didn't Rojo contribute a track story or two to the Post?
Deedle:
True or False. Marion Jones "A" sample came back positive?
True or False. Amy Shipley reported a fact.
True or False. You can not see for libel for factual statements.
True or False. The answer to all the question is TRUE.
acutally shipley reported a fact but then she made assumptions and implications that were not fact. so no, not all true.
Brojo's,
Your exercise of your First Amendment rights does not offend me. I understand that if I do not like Free Speech I can move to another country. I also understand that if I do not like what you have to say, I do not have to read it.
By the way, Marion is a drug cheat, B sample B damned.

So her B test comes back negative and now you know she was/is not cheating? You've got a lot of faith in our drug testing system.
You people are something else. How do you know the B sample was legit? You're passing the same judgement that you are accusing the bros of wrongly doing. They're entitled to their opinion just like everyone else.
but when that opinion reaches thousands of people on a daily basis and can possibly shape someone's career or life at the time, then they need to exercise a little tact. otherwise this is the kind of thing that will come back and kick them in the ass a few years from now. do you think the cornell AD would like to hear that one of his coaches is making spurious drug allegations all over the place?
If you did realize the BLOW JO's have it out for certain athletes. So I'm not surprise by the from page.
yeah it appears to be the case. how would they like it if someone made a website making up crapo about how RoJo unfairly got his coaching psoition. it's an opinion and it may be correct or incorrect but it can be harmful.
Good points all.

Well that's the world we live in now isn't it? The problem comes when someone says something as fact that isn't true at all causing harm to that person. What is that called, defamation, slander? Believe me if the Jones camp thought the brojos crossed the line they would have complaints served on their asses in no time. The only one Jones has a beef with is the person who leaked the A sample.
I think a little credit is in order. The Bojos are trying their best to root out the cheats. Is Jones a cheat? The jury is still out on that one. Just because a B sample came back negative after an A sample came back positive doesn't convince me that Jones is innocent. I still belive she cheated along with Gatlin, Armstrong, Landis, Hamilton, Bonds, Giambi, Palmero and hundreds of other athletes who haven't been caught yet. These drugs are so advanced now that the traces are long gone before anyone gets around to testing any B samples.
I think the Bojos have been right all along and when their B sample gets tested you should all be as contrite to them as you are to the cheats who managed to beat the system.
