Best get the knighthood ready.....
Clearly no internal candidates up to the job, possible externals ? Dave Bedford, Clive Woodward, Roger Draper
Would like to see a new Chairman in place first to lead the search for the right candidate. If its left to the current board it will be a shambles.
Now Woodward would be an intresting choice!

I would just like to say im out. I perform magic not miracles.
What about Trevor Graham, I hear he is now available. Or even better Linford Christie. that will definitly improve performances. Then Campbell will be happy!
Dave Bedford possibly but, have never trusted that cattepilar on his face!
What about Dutchman Charles van Commenee? He's been successful with Denise Lewis and Kelly Sotherton, so plenty of credibility with the athletes. And I believe he's employed by the Dutch Olypic Committee now, so he knows something about running a big organization as well.
he's a coach, and is employed as the dutch performance director I believe (their Dave Collins I guess). He's not a man to run a business.
Jack Buckner - ex Marketing Director for Adidas in the states, knows the sport, surely got to be a contender - although maybe they won't want to appoint another ex-5000m man!
Ridgeon might know the top end of the sport and marketing side but think he'd be seen as distanced from the grass roots. Think Buckner is a bit more grounded.
Drug testing mean he has no decent athletes.
Buckner has been too involved with the Foster changes to bring the fresh perspective required and for all his marketing background is still a bit lightweight.
Ridgeon is clearly one with potential. A big step up from marketing the big meets to run an organisation this size though. Probably one for the future.
I still don't see anyone inside athletics community in the UK with the skills to do this job at the moment. Plenty of other sports are/have been run succesfully by people from outisde the sport. Having the right skills should be requirement number 1.
I have heard that Dick Pound would like to get a joint position at UKA and USATF. He wants to be part of the problem.

quite.
Never trust a man with a moustache - that philosophy has served me very well for my 23 years on this planet.
