Agree with you in congrats to Dan for getting Henry Marsh's steeple record from Koblenz (W.Germany at that time) in 1985. That was coming off not winning a medal in the '84 games, behind Brian Diemer.

Marc - you could have had this record in 1986 at the Goodwill games in Moscow, if you would not have waved to the fans so much over the last 600 meters. Croghan just missed as well at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993.

Hopefully, he will pull others from the USA to run under 8:10.

Me thinks Mr. Lincoln will take it lower by the end of the summer. Boy I'd like to see him run in a top flight 5000. I think he could take down BK's record as well.

I also think Lincoln can take the record down to about 8:05, but if I remember earlier comments he made, he may only make a couple of more tries this summer, so...let's hope he finds good venues and conditions.

As a medical student I wondered how Dan Lincoln's career would progress when he entered school last fall. I couldn't be happier for a guy who obviously works hard in two areas of his life and has raced so well this year... in cross, indoor, and now outdoor.

Marc, glad to hear you avoid plaque. In fact, most dental disease stems from plaque.

As someone who has relatives in the medical field, I have no idea WHERE he finds the time to train. You literally will be on your feet for 24 hours sometimes and you can forget about 8 hour sleep.
