I'm just conditioning this old body,then go back to your plan which it seems great but I have to tune up the old engine sports car.It is a racing car that has been sitting in a carage for too many years.You are one hundred and fifty percent right.Yes! The second workout of the day was great. Five of us were training at Academy track for 39 minutes then Christain left then we were four of us John,Solomon,Krist and I. We were moving our feet very quick for the few minutes sprints after Christain left and I don't think he could have enjoy the sprints pace with cold weather.Anyhow my training is great. Henry |

when will the world see Henry Rono's weight in the 150's? Only then will you be able to do the track work and fast racing that you wanted to do this spring and summer. |

Most world class 5000m runners will be running 90-120mi weeks. The "70mi week" number comes from physiologists studies on aerobic uptake. However, there's much to be gained in the form of strength and mitochondrial development. But who would submit to a multi-year study running 4000+ miles a year to put it in a textbook? |

The spring is coming in 19 days what are talking about.Then you will see me with 150lbs.That is why, I say just waaaaiiit!!But don't worry about summer yet.Stay tune that is all you need to do for now.Just use your ears and eyes and those are two good common sense to use in my case it will help you out,than being up tight about my weight. Are they ever found the real exercise-physiologist to talk about world class runners yet? Like Who? Name one? Is not the same guys who asked me why I do warm-up too much before the race? Later found out it was neccessary to do to open up your lungs breathing system. Henry |

The 271 days of training phase II.32mwp+85mhc+14mcd=131 minutes.I was really tired this morning,you can see my warm up minutes is back where I use to do. The youngsters were smoking;however they were slow by two minutes for them they have short recovery.Afterwords they felt they had it today too.Because of last evening training was intense. I wanted to take a day off,but I say we are close to level III,just few days away to the promise land.I say Keep on going and don't worry about it guys. Henry, you (and Mr. Tuone Udaina) are exactly right. If you want to learn how to be a world-class runner, look at what the real world-class runners do. I've noticed that Henry sincerely listens to everyone's advice, but he ultimately makes his own decisions about how to train, and eat, and prepare for racing. He is right to do so. Nobody knows Henry's body better than Henry. He is a running genius. |

yeah, right on, except for the weight-losing part. It should have all been done with, a long time ago; but, we have to deal with the here and now and the reality. So, let's hope he keeps progressing into the 150's before summer. I have lost 20 lbs in a month, with no problem, when I put my mind to it. I just hope Henry is done fooling around with staying overweight and either not losing much weight or losing it so slowly that he obviously is not cutting back on his food/drink intake much, if at all; considering the fact that he is running an hour to 2 hours a day; the weight issue should have been finished a long time ago. But, that being said there is still time to get it done and race this summer if He truly wants to. I am pulling for him! |

The older you are, the longer it takes to get the weight off. Additionally, with Henry running high mileage, he needs to make sure he's sufficiently fueled. He's right on track. I like Henry's approach, he's doing what his body is telling him to do. He isn't listening to the "experts" that tell him he should lose x lbs per week, run x miles per week, run x pace, etc. Your body is the best coach a person can have. 13:06, 27:22, 8:05, 7:32 is the proof. |

On February 14,2007.I ran the same course with timing of 184 minutes. Today I did run today with time of 124 minutes.What is that tells you? Give me an answer by the end of today. By the way this question is not for you Malmo.It is for those who don't understand my hiiiieeeel climbiiiiiiing.It is for meeeeeeeeee!!!!.It heals my joints, tendons,cardiovascular,pectoralis,intercostal, quads and arms.Inhaling and exhaling is the job my lungs.My head is the driver of the all circulatory system.What have you? I ate only chicken, vegetables, broiled fish, drank alot of water and green tea during the day and I walked or did the lifecylce for 45 minutes, 5 days a week. Losing 20 lbs in 30 days is not that incredible, if you are 50 lbs overweight. |
