I think a lot of us following his training on these pages don't realise that Henry being the type of runner he is, has to wait until his body tells him it's ready before he moves on through the various phases he has to go through.

Sometimes it's got frustrating for me because he seemed to be "stuck" on his version of base training. I forgot that a lot of this training involves going up and down the side of a mountain; he's not running easy laps round a football pitch.

He will be SO strong next year!

We Rono fans can only hope and cheer him on. Hoping that he does start progressing....and soon! Otherwise NEXT season will come and go too.

I have now finished the book and enjoyed the glimpse at Henry's inner self immensely.

And I agree 100% with your conclusions!

After reading your comments about my book,I got up in the bed and went to the hills for another run.I felt a shinny light in my face and energy just like that. You hit the nail by the head, thanks.

The 94 minutes at Copper hills was enjoyable as I was entertaining my imagination and laughter. If you could hear my voice talking to myself you could think there are two people running and talking to each other;however, only one person, who has his own music in his head.Trying and making running go easy by talking to himself. This is me.It is what I called self-positive talk.It reinforces the positive atitude of physical and mental-health.

To PastAsPrologue

Thanks again for another good comment.Do you know why I wrote the book?

This is my fame of running and my arguement.

Speaking of your book; is your grandmother still alive? She'd have to be 117-118 by now if so.

Henry: time to speed things up if you want to compete seriously next spring and summer. Good luck to you! I will come watch you race if you come to my city. If you show a high level of fitness, I'm sure you will be in demand at many races, like you were the 1st 1/2 of last year before injuries and lack of motivation derailed you. This year you will come ALL THE WAY BACK!

Yeah, those speed are coming very slowly I felt it this evening when I put in 65 minutes along academy road and use sauna for 15 minutes I could sense that it is right in the hipp joints and my speeds are coming later in the springs perhaps summer time. You will see me doing it.

Henry: have you targeted any races for 2008 that you will be pointing towards? I would think that you would want to have your weight down, close to 150 lbs by the end of this year, if, you are indeed serious. I'm pulling for you!

It was 84 minutes this early morning + 20 minutes in a sauna of 200 degree heat.I was pumping those legs coming up in that early morning at 5 am.The fresh breathing air helps the old man to push the pace go faster.I was not alone. There are many in the early morning using Tramway lights along the way and here I am pumping my high knees and arms.Perhaps by springs those legs would improve alot.

another thread mentions marc nenow possibly running for a comeback.

I find it easier to think he would have a better shot at the record than henry. Despite not running much since his career was over he probably took better care of himself.

Henry why did you stop running completely and for so long? What did you do to fill up your days?

What I did to fill up my days was to enjoy life that barried me up to my neck, when I got up was two years. The running world have too far ahead me.Now I am picking up my tab to close the gap.Do I sound about right?

In your prime, during your heaviest training; how many miles would you run in a typical week? Were you a 100 mile a week guy?

I was doing 120 miles a week in which I wasnt following the lock.

But nowdays I used minutes, example today, I put in 63 minutes plus 20 minutes in the process of planing one mile record in my age group.I think I got your question answered.Sometimes you need to edited my writing to make sense for you.
