Yes, Graeme Fell--who was 19 at the time--was the rabbit in that race. If I remember correctly, though, he lead for only for the first three laps. |

Fell led the first three laps of the two mile. Malinowski, who defeated Henry the week before in the steeplechase, who pushed the pace hard midway in the two mile. |

Unless I was running 8:04 that day.I was going back and front I was running like a fool spending my all energy in a outer lane.Ovett gets credit. The UK dont have these breed anymore as Ovett, Coe Graham..They have run out of them. These guys were mentally strong and physically firm to race with. Henry |

Henry, I've been here for years and this board is filled with immature, pimple faced children. I'm glad this thread is heavily moderated. What these people don't understand is alcohol seriously changes a body. It's not that Henry is just older and gained more weight. Alcohol attacks the body. It destroys it. My goodness, people die from alcoholism. A lot more is going on with Henry than just fighting off weight gain, age and time off from running. He's fighting off the ravenging effects of years of alchohol abuse. He's not going to overturn this thing over night. His body didn't deteriorate overnight and it won't snap back to great running form overnight. But, Henry is well on his way to reaching his goals. He's plugging along and seeing progress. Like a whirlpool, as Henry's body gets more and more adjusted to getting along without alcohol and fueled by good food instead, his improvements will increase. I know a masters 400 runner who hadn't run since college. He wasn't an alcoholic. He was just a typical, middle aged man with the middle aged spread. He gave himself 5 years to get back in to 400 shape to compete at the top the masters ranks. And, it took every bit of those 5 years to do it. So, get off Henry's back and watch the metamorphisis. I, for one, am enjoying the show. |

And lets not forget how far Henry has progressed over these 143 pages. |

The 429 day of training phase II. I put in 147 minutes along the woods by the time I get home I was on my knees. I went straight to freg for two glass of milk.I can feel it the milk going straight to the bones. I crushed to the bed.Now I ahve recovered and I am heading to the track section this evening. Henry |

Henry, with all due respect, do you think that rehydrating with milk is such a good idea? Lots of calories there, and you are trying to quench thirst with them, which means maybe you take more calories than your body really needs, because of the thirst. This is what I am thinking, I hope it might help. |
