I have no idea if Henry gets any screen time.

Henry did get to do a nice interview on this show. The idea of showing respect to the all time greats is still alive in the minds of some of the media people !!Glad to see Steve Scott and TV Toni getting a chance to show Henry some props.

The 315 day of training phase II. The long run today for 119 minutes way better than yesterday by 9 muntes. The same course I did yesterday was 128 minutes. So my right hamstring is going well.It was another road test again today after a good massage last night. The coach says the muscles are tight and after loosing up I had a long day having diarhria,I had sit in a bathroom most of the day. When I was in a Mall it was a problem looking for restrooms and I almost shit on my pants.

The massage really clean my stomatch up.Perhaps cutting weights too.

malmo- thanks for the pic! That is one of my favorite all-time Henry photos. Where was it published originally (if it was)? Really takes me back.

Henry, that is "The Tiger Of The Palouse". Thanks for bringing him back!

Henry: did you watch the Boston marathon today? What was your opinion of the way the race unfolded? Did you think that those 2 Kenyan unknowns who had a 1 minute lead at the 1/2 way mark were for real? They looked real to me, but eventually pulled a "Kimeto".

The guy mention that one time was an homeless. So he is running away from poverty, that is motivation for him.

The winning time is so slow, I think it is because of the wierd weather they had today in Boston.

Did you think, they were running like Kimeto?

To Rono rules!

Thank you for this year plan program for upcoming races.I look forward connecting myself with these meet directors and plan out things.I notice that the best way to pay the bills is to plan three steps ahead.

Plan ahead is very important for me today, then I will have my book out for sale.

just joking: Kimeto was a fine runner; but many times he would run a world record pace or faster; just to crash and burn....but, of course, he ran many fine races too.

We should all be so lucky to "pull a Kimeto."

Joshua Kimeto
3000 7:46.67
5000 13:32.8
10000 28:00.6

NCAA 5000
1975 9th
1976 1st
1977 1st
1978 4th

In that 77 race I was the only muzungo to try to "pull a Kimeto." It didn't work, but I'm sure as hell glad I tried.

yes; I agree. You always want to push the envelope at some time in your racing career, just to see what happens. It's not always good. I did that more than a few times myself; such as the time I went by 3/4 in a mile with Wolhuter, Wottle, Fischer, and others, in 3 minutes, before running my last lap in 68...stick a fork in me on that one.

I'm impressed. If you were in a mile race with those three (and others) there's a good chance I saw it. Wichita 74 or 75?

don't be impressed. I was the idiot who led and watched the hit parade go by on the last lap. I was a dumb freshman, however.
