Akbar's significant improvement does not surprise me. Her coach coaches my daugther's team as well as Alan Webb. Although perhaps not the most approachable guy and still a bit young in terms of maturity, beyond question he knows his stuff. Believe me, I long had my doubts - but again, Akbar's two plus minute improvement in the 10k is yet another example of his coaching ability. |

She doesn't normally run the 10k, but she has [just] the fastest PR in the field from that Stanford race in 2005 where Rudolph, Smith and McGregor all ran around 31.20. So, not that much of an upset. |

While the race went almost instantly to the pack of 4, Victoria Jackson did a nice job of staying within herself, and closing the gap a bit at the end. |
