I've always thought that Lunn looked like he was probably a real a$$hole. These stories confirm it's probably true. No one gets into this many fights, least of all with fellow runners, without his own temperment playing a role.

He also seems really arrogant in post-race interviews.

Someone make my day and tell me a story about Lunn getting his nose broken.

Who would win in an elite US runner death match? I pick Solinsky because he wrestles for Wisconsin. Wasn't he a Big Ten runner up this year in his weight class?

I hit Lunn really hard in the chest at the starting line at Tyson, and hit him again today in the race.

In 1986 at the Mansfield Mehock Relays, two inner Detroit high schools(one I remember being Detroit Cooley, forget the other) cleared the stands after an incident on the track during a sprint race, both teams were punching the lights out of each other. No pushing or shoving here, straight six packs to the dome. Unbelievable, took forever to finally clear it all up.

Oh. Neither. I'm really not jealous of anyone for anything in life. I'm pretty damn content.

I just have a very low tolerance for a$$holes, bullies and hot heads.

If anyone remembers a guy named James Small way back in 99 or 2000, beat Webb in the 1000 that same year too. Both ran 2:27-8 something at Mason. Small just kept punching and throwing bows at Webb and Webb didn't do nothin, however niether was DQ'ed cuz the times were so freakin fast. I think they were both sophmores at the time. There should have been a fight though.

Ahmed is one of the dirtiest runners out there. Lunn just said a few words after the race. I don't think he has never been in a fight with a Bruce. Downin was wasted and took a swing because his team got smoked that year. Lunn didn't swing back, but only caught his fist and continued drinking his beer. Lunn's one of the good guys in the sport.

Didn't Ahmed get DQ'd for running people off the track?

What's this?

2003 USA INDOOR NATIONALS........Lunn was pushed from behind by Bryan Berryhill with 600m to go. Lunn then went on to pull Berryhill off the track onto the infield, contruct a 8x8 cage out of barbed wire, and had a 2 hour cage match with Bryan. Lunn won in a 2-1 judges decision.
Truth Guy.

Adam Goucher was in a mile race with Berryhill, and Berryhill sat and kicked on him. Goucher was pissed, and grabbed Berryhill by the Jersey and yelled in his face "If you ever do that again I'm going to kick your ass"

uh, he's kidding obviously. wrestling and distance running are like night and day. they require a completely different sort of endurance. In high school you'll find some athletes that achieve moderate success in both sports. But never on the college level, because they require such different muscle groups to really excel. Solinsky has an unusually strong upper body for a distance runner but he'd get pinned in 30 seconds by wisconsin's 149, tyler turner. You're more likely to find a successful featherweight boxer that can run a decent 10k time than a 121 or 132 pound wrestler. I'd be interested to know if there has been a single runner/wrestler ranked nationally in both sports above 112 pounds.
