Ok, today after the men's 1500m Heat 1, Jason Lunn and Said Ahmed appeared to almost come to blows. I'm not sure exactly what happened but they were arguing on the track afterwards and Zach Griffin stepped in between them. Then they confronted each other again, and Ahmed could be heard saying to Lunn, "I'll punch you in the face" Griffin then stepped in again and nothing else happened. So it got me to thinking about the best fights I've seen at track meets. There was one at the Yale-Cornell-Bucknell tri-meet my junior year but i don't have time for the details but wanted to get the thread going. |

Ben Andrews out-kicked Lunn in a duel meet against Oregon, at Hayward ten years ago. Andrews showboated across the line, and ran cut-off Lunn a bit (there were hurdles in the third or fourth lane. At the finish, Lunn shoved Andrews hard, and got booed by the pro-Duck crowd. Lunn should be able to handle Ahmed pretty easily. |

during the manhatten college xc meet at van cortland 2 years ago 2 kids were elbowing each other and at the bridge one got shoved into the wall and his two teammates just pounded the other kid and then kept going into the back hills. it was pretty funny. |

Tim Montgomery went after a fan who taunted him at the trials in 2004. The dude was stading at the end of the curve behind the straight and yelled something at Tim as he was gearing up for a heat. He blew up like a f***ing baby and threatened the guy. it was pathetic |

trena hull of unlv got into a fight with jennifer abrahams of uc irvine, at a meet at uc irvinethis happened in a 1500 meter race, where hull was pushed apparently to hard, and as they were seperated hull was saying, no one hits me and abrahams was saying bring it on b---- it was hilarious. |

pac-10's a couple of years ago. ucla kid tripped ryan hall. hall went down HARD and fell from top 2 to last by a lot. hall got back up, bolted to the front, had words and elbows with ucla kid, boxed ucla kid in with aid of stanford mate (the kid with the socks . . . spaced his name - ROBISON. thank god i remembered that one). hall wound up 5-6th? but it was awesome watching him not take crap from anyone. |

one of the Downin brothers swung at Lunn in a bar one time. Lunn caught his fist in mid air, and did not spill a drop of beer. Then, the older Downin bro beat the tar out of his little brother in the back alley. |

one time in college Jason Lunn went at it with Bruce Jackson of UNC during an indoor meet. this did not happen during a race but rather on the infield. it was broken up quickly |

This isn't even close to right. Hall tripped himself up, went down, bolted to the front, had some words and a shoving match ensued at 400 to go which ended in Hall having his ass tossed into the infield. He went on to finish second to last. |

Look, all I know about the initial trip was that Hall went down. I was in front of him. The shoving match didn't even really involve hall, it involved Robison and whats his name from UCLA (indoor 4:01) Hall was just the recipient of getting tossed into the infield by the scuffle. |
