The US 800m guys would have been all over that 800m last night wouldn't they! Not.

They can't even make the top three in their own US College Champs these days.

And just wait till the British 1500m boys start racing properly!

Dude, in kenya we had 11, 1.45 or better 800m runners in 2005 and u can only expect more this yr and i'll be in.

Let's see if the UK has 3 in the top ten in August.

ok, you are wrong because last year James McIllroy ran 1.44.5ish in Rieti.

No-one can deny this is impressive. The race last night WAS definetly surprising - not least for the guys who were in it! It is good news for the British scene, but now the acid test is if any of those guys can step it up, get their world rankings down (because running 1.45 in Watford means very little in IAAFs books), and run these sorts of times in quality races. Obviously now the spotlight is on the European Championships, where, time-wise 3 1.45 low guys should do VERY well, so Im gonna hold judgement until then. The 800m is one event where it is very possible to bust a world class time from out of nowehere, but consistency is where its at. So Britain has once again great POTENTIAL, lets see if the promise matures, and maybe the first poster is right, it will be back to the glory days

1:45 is nothing to get excited about.

I think the starter of this post is jumping the gun a bit talking about the glory days coming back. It does look promising though. The race last night was a domestic race and all the top finishers are still young. There should be more to come from some of these guys and i hope they can do it. In the days of Coe, Cram and Ovett 1:45 was almost average. We need people running at least 1:43 again to get excited.

Webb is good, but CRAM was in another league, Cram had arguably the ability to beat all runners from 800m thru 3000m. When not injured, he was dominant. In 1985 he was unstoppable.

That is impressive for a domestic field at the start of June. The top two are only 20 or so. What is most impressive before that race most people would not have counted those guys as the top British guys. It is impressive not that one or two ran fast but Britain could end up with 8-10 guys sub 1.46 this year, that could be the spring board to bring back the glory days. Hopefully this will open the flood gates to get more guy believing they can run just as fast and pushing each other along.

First, I am not American, I am from Trinidad & Tobago. Secondly, you only think that your teeth are fine. Thirdly, I would rather date an overweight American lady then a brit with bad dental hygiene and very hairy calves and thighs and armpits and stomach and back and arms and feet and hands and chin, not that there is anything wrong with that.
