To JR,
I'm glad you like my answer because sometimes I get into these philosocal details that might sound strength to many people.I don't want to scare my audience.keep up with me you are my motivators to my comeback, by the way I saw something like 195lbs on the scale after sauna. This is what I carry now with me. No wonder I'm getting lighter. I can tire my shoes lese very fast. I can bend down easy. I can see no sticking out stomatch.
Thank you

Henry the great thing that keeps us all glued to this thread(other than the obvious point of reading actual posts from one of the most legendary, captivating, and intrigueing runners in history) is to read your philosophical input. It is awesome input and you have scores across the world captivated by it.

I was a youngster coming up in the early 80's and remember seeing the world record distance lists and all I saw was, Rono, Rono, Rono, Rono. There has never been a phenom of that in my lifetime that was so far ahead of anything that had ever been done before. And hearing the actual stories behind your races makes it even better.

Please stay free to post whatever you feel is in your head because you are to all in the sport a true genious, like an Albert Einstein or Mozart. We all feel privileged for being able to have this.

The above person is not wrong:
I want every one to know this is what I have been waiting for a long time to express my feelings about running and how I accounter with people right! Why talk about me here and there and you don't even know me well.I mean the was news papers treat my point of view. And qoute me wrong then people see me that way.How many athletes have gone to grave without saying one word about their lives? I don't want to happen with me.

The person who did introduction of my book is from Germany and I should attach the essay of four pages here.Could I do that? I like the way he introduce my book. His Name is Thorsten Nauman

Henry, we just just need to call this "The Summer Of Rono"
(with apologies to our malmo). I was at the track tonight with some of the kids who came to help me do my workout and we were joined by an "old" kid who was a state champion in cross country and track in the late 80's. He has been trying to get back into running and will put on racing flats for the first time since college on saturday (he is 34). He is trying to lose weight and to get back that old feeling of running. I told him about what you were doing and sent him off to go run hill repeats with my fastest boy.
Everything happens for a reason, my grandmother would say. We end up where we are for some purpose. It could be that your greatest accomplishments are ahead of you and not in your past. Your journey will prove to be more inspiring than the places you may have stopped.
I recieved the pics. Thank you! I really like that one of you and Al.

Hello Mr. Henry. I had been captivated by this thread since its beginning and enjoy it tremendously. It's great to hear, see, and be able to read about your running comeback (or re-born). We all are rooting for you, keep it up.
Now, I have a specific question about your current running (since you don't like to talk much about the past, which is totally fine and understandable): Do you eat anything before your early morning long runs? Do you drink some tea before the run for a pick-me-up feeling?
You wrote that you ran hill repeats for 30 minutes the other day (after 110 min of running beforehand)... what kind of repeats do you run? Long, slow, or shorter and faster? I understand that you run by feel, but what are your training plans when you get into better shape?

Thanks in forward for your response.

I like to use the sauna. i use it mainly to meditate and for prayer. I go to sweatlodge too. All this makes my spirit strong.

You clearly have a plan for the future, Henry. I'm wondering if your "speedwork plan" is specificly laid out in advance. That is, do you know exactly when you will begin track runs, 400s, 1000s, etc, and the form that this will take?

If there were any apologies to make they would be to George Costanza. I was about to make the same proclamation, only I had the patience to wait until it was the first day of summer. You beat me to the punch.

Malmo- I had the pleasure of watching Henry run during the 1978 Commonwealth Games up here in Edmonton. Henry was just amazing to watch. I think for those of us who really remember Henry's performances and how they inspired us to become better runners this is great. Malmo did you race in
Victoria or Vancouver in the 80's. I remember running against a bunch AW guys at XC's one year. Cheers

Henry - You are still an inspiration to many runners.
It would be great to see you up in Edmonton again. Hopefully
that is in your plans. Cheers
